First time driving in the snow

All I can say is WOW. We only had 2" of snow but I drove all over the farm,80 acres in 2WD . Nothing else would do that. I had to give it something steeper so I drove up the hill the grandkids use for sledding. It went up 1/2 way in 2WD, and spun out. Steped on the rear end lock and spun both rear tires. Put it in 4WD and motor reved up but did not go any where. Put it in low , and kubot went up the hill no problem. Never spun a tire. Have WS tires on.
To say the least I am very happy. I guess I will hunt a snow blade. I have an old bolens with a blade and snow blower that I have had since the late 1960's, and a ford jublee with a blade, so I was not going to get one for the kubota.
It would be alot nicer to plow snow inside a heated cab. Have a 1/4 mile driveway. The last two years we had alot of snow. This year I did not think we were going to get any. If we do not get mutch more snow this year craiges list will have alot of plows this spring.

Fun, isn't it.

I run slightly more aggressive tires so it's very rare I need to go into 4wd. I normally go through at least a foot of snow in straight 2-wheel drive.

Be careful if you get a plow for it. My tractor already feels pretty sad since the RTV took over so many of its duties. It didn't seem to get much of anything but loader work so I leave a blade on it for snow plowing. It feels better knowing it has a purpose in life. I did get a 3PH rototiller for it last year so that lifted its spirits.

Had to get my trailor out of the back yard this weekend, I have 1.5 acres, drove around back and didn't realize the ground was so saturated. Got almost to the trailor and began to sink, Kubota came to a stop spinning, locked the rear dif in, sunk deeper. Went to 4 wheel drive high, never spun another tire. Now I have 12" deep ruts for about 20' or so to repair after it dries. Kubota pulled out fine it has factory stock tires. Went back and got the trailor with my four wheeler ( it's much lighter ):dancing:
