Front axle pops out of diff.

I have questions. My 2016 rtv x900 has a right front axle that has popped out of the differentials. All of the info that I can find on line seems to be an older style axle that has a 3 bolt hub holding the axle in place. Mine has no such animal. I am assuming that there is a circlip that holds the axle in place and it has been damaged, letting the axle work out of the diff. I am speculating here since I have no experience with cv style axles. Can anyone enlighten me on what to expect when I open this thing up. If there is a circlip malfunction, and it is no longer attached to the axle, that will mean I have to remove the diff and split it to get the pieces out.
Thanks!

The half shafts need to be able to move in and out as the suspension travels. Look at the hub next to the differential to see if that is full of dried mud or something preventing this movement. It is possible if that is stuck that your just pulling it free
