gripe about kubota 900

anybody else hit the parking brake handle getting out of theie machine? i think they could have found a better place to put the handle. everytime i get out with the brake on i hit my leg.

Never had that problem. I have more of a problem with the brake on the 500 as I often find myself getting in from the passenger side and sliding over.

Have considered shortening lever but the brake is somewhat untrustworthy on steep slopes as it is. Made some heavy duty chained chocks and use them. FWIW I have talked to a number of RTV owners and all have said the parking brake AND the failed fuel gauges are the most common complaints. Don't hold your breath waiting for Kubota to step up to the plate.

Yep, I too have issues with the park brake lever and my fuel gauge now stays pegged above full. I'll be pursuing warranty repplacement of the gauge. Still have a few months warranty left.

Other than that, I'm still very impressed with the machine.

Pepr - Are you sure the gauge is bad? When I fill, it takes several hours of run-time before you start to see it wiggle down.

I fill mine so seldom the hardest part is remembering where the strap wrench got to.:pat: Yes, the park brake likes to "grab" you sometimes.

Im not gunna comment on the account ill embarass my self buttttttttttttt I can remember a time last summer I was dis mounting the Kubota a little to fast and caught my shorts on the handle.
Geuss where my shorts were 3 seconds later???Good thing no one was around to see my Bare ass.

BCZoom, the fuel tank was near empty last week while the guage indicated greater than full. The issue could be the sending unit. Either case, still have warranty, therefore, I'll allow Kubota to fix it.

Please use warranty. That is what it there for.
I used mine when it was new, for reason the fuel cap would not seal-off. To find out, at one time, there was one company making the tanks for Kubota, and one company making the fuel caps. The threads were not really matching up.
Sooooooooooooooooooo...... I got my dealer to replace the WHOLE TANK AND CAP TOGETHER. It worked perfect !!!!

Some of the "oldies" remembers this well.

I would haul mine down the road. And when I got to where I was going. There would be diesel fuel all the way from the RTV to the back of trailer. God help those who run up behind me.........

900 and 1100 dont give much room for your legs.....they could have made it much more user frendily there.
YOU also sit so stright up bothers my back after a hour look forward to getting outa the thing.

About fell on my face in same embareASSing situation. Quick exits in shorts must be carefully planned and executed.

Catch that lever wrong and you could end up with a G string. As far as the fuel tank, mine also leaked bad and the cap was a bear to get off. Messicks hooked me up on the new cap and extra gasket and it solved both problems. That is why I buy my filters etc. from them.
