How does yours take off

You know how you feel when you think you have a problem but you might not. I have had my 900 for a year now getting to know the way it operates but i would like to ask everyone how your RTV takes off when you push down on the fuel easy. I was out with the wife looking things over and we stopped under a walnut tree and the ground is covered with the walnuts so it was like we were on a bunch of marbles and i took off slow and i didn't know if taking off really slow or the walnuts caused it to have a jerkey kinda jumpy start. I tried it again on hard level ground and if i take off really slow it's not smooth but if i take off like i normally do and go on it does fine, is this normal?

Sounds normal to me. Our 900s don't like to be feathered into action ... just drop the hammer on 'em.

sounds normal, the trans. operates based on fluid pressure, lower rpms lower pressure. imagine a water hose that has the valve barely open. each time you squeeze the nozzle you get a short blast then the pressure dies down. similar principle here just happens faster.

Not mentioned, but if you need those slow starts regularly, consider the hand throttle adjustment. You can then set your engine RPM's up a bit so it's smoother.

" How does yours take off"
I have never been been able to get mine off the ground!:whistling: Sometimes mine needs more throttle to get moving. As others have said it has to build pressure to be able to move.
