How much do DIESEL UTV's cost?

I may be in the market to upgrade my little utility vehicle. Now that I've got a larger tractor, my light duty Yamaha seems pretty inadequate.

I've never priced any of the DIESEL utility vehicles. I'm not interested in a big fancy unit with a radio, AC or a cab. I'd be looking for a bench seat and a sturdy tip box bed with diesel powerplant.

Any idea on the street prices for the following units?

Bobcat 3400
New Holland Rustler 120
Kubota RTV 900
Husqvarna HUV4421D

Any other recommendations on the smaller/basic end of the diesel powered utility vehicles?

Bob, I don't know about any of the others but on the Kubota website their is a "Build my Kubota" feature that lets you choose your machine and trick it out the way you want it. Once you have the "book" price you can go from there.

The local Kubota dealer here isn't willing to budge much below the official price on RTV's for some reason. Probably not much need as he sells whatever he can get on the lot. They don't seem to hang around very long. JD Gator is the same. Those two seem to have the market cornered. You almost never see NH, Bobcat of Husqvarna's.

As usual, let us know how your research goes and your final decision.

Kioti Mechron with true 4 wheel drive is supposed to be introduced to the US market this month. Might as well match the tractor, the Bobcat is a re-badged Polaris ............ :unhappy:

$12K

Probably won't go with the Mechron as I simply do not trust the Kioti dealer in my area. He's as far away as the Bobcat dealer, and is a lawn and garden dealer.

As far as the tractors go, from what I understand both the Kioti and the Bobcat are rebadged Daedong. I was originally under the impression that Kioti was the American division of Daedong but I was informed that Kioti was an operating company that contracted with Daedong to purchase tractors; later due to financial trouble, Daedong apparently absorbed Kioti and made it its American division. Bobcat wanted to expand its offerings to the landscape and rental markets and contracted with Daedong for a line of tractors. The agreement is described as a 'long term' agreement. Bobcat is the American division of Doosan, which is also a Korean company. Bobcat used to be the compact machinery division of Ingersall-Rand, but I-R sold the division to concentrate on expanding its large industrial equipment. Doosan is one of the largest companies in Korea and rumors suggest it may purchase Daedong.

Looks like $12,200 for what I'd want from Kubota. Dealer is someone I've worked with on quite a few things, he's only 5 miles away.

New Holland's build and price shows an $11,825 list price for their offering. That dealer is only 8 miles away and I go to church with one of the mechanics and have gotten good deals from him in the past.

Are you sure of that?

Seems to me the Bobcat 3400 and the Husqvarna HUV with Kubota diesels are essentially the same unit, and from what I can tell those may be made by Club Car and are essentially the same as their offering.

Looks like the New Holland Rustler 120/125 and the Case Scout may also be Club Car built but I can't really tell for sure???

Bobcat/Polaris alliance.

I'm guessing Polaris makes the smaller non-diesel units?

The press release says the 2100, 2200 and 2300 series. I don't think those models even exist anymore. Looks like Polaris may be making the new 3200 unit. Which is the smallest unit Bobcat offers, steel frame, gas powered.

The Bobcat 3400 is most definitely a Club Car, and is a clone of both the Club Car and the Husqvarna. All three models have virtually identical specs and descriptions and even look similar save for color and some details.

I can't quite confirm the New Holland Rustler 120 origins.
