as you guys know i'm on a fixed income well money is really tight .i had to use some of my morgage money to pay for the dr visit today.the dr tells me he needs me to sign a drug contract with him stating that he's the only dr i go to for my meds i say no problem .he then tells me i have to take a drug screen to make sure i'm takin the meds and that they are in my system and i'm not selling them i say no problem.i'm think the test is around 40.00 so i take the paper and go to the test place to take the test and the lady says you need to pay 426.70 before we go any further.i said are you crazy almost 500.00 for a drug screen. so i go back to the dr and tell them there is no way i can come up with that money.they said well your next visit is in 4 months so as long as you have it done before that day it's ok.now here's the catcher i only have 2 weeks meds left and they won't fill them until i take the test but by the time i can come up with the money i'll be out and there will be nuthing in my system??? i asked if i could just go to the place down the road that only charges like 40.00 they said they are gonna try to find a cheaper place and call me tomorrow.the past few months have been hard i have been in the negative instead of positive with money.and this month is even worst my solenoid went out in the transmission on my truck so new solenoids and filter and fluids ran me just under 200.00 then the day i get it on the road the map sensor goes bad thats 170.00 then i go to the dr pay 126.00 for the visit and they tell me i have to pay 426.00 for a drug test and if i was have taken it my meds are 130.00 a month. my house ote is 700.00 car insureance is 60.00 my light bill is 250.00 internet is 50.00 cell is 230.00 i don't even wanna get into how much credit cards payments are hottube bill is 136.00 "a must for my neck and back condition" water bill 30.00 and i get a whopping 2100.00 as income now i didn't add in food or fuel for my truck do the math .i'm in the minus every month i have to skip a bill here and there just to get food because i was turned down for food stamps they say i make to much??????????????????????jeeze i'm goin freakin crazy then they got this oboma care that says everyone has to get health insurance or pay a fine???i tried to find a job but everyone says i have to pass a physical and i can't because i have 6 ruptured disc and i have had two neck surgeries with plates and a huge metal cage in my neck. i sneak into the dump at night to pickup old batteries and a/c units to sell at the scrap yard but with the econemy everyone is selling scap so now thats hard to find too. i tried workin the street but the one customer i had she wanted her money back.lmao ok thats about it i feel a bit better now.like i tell the little ole lady at the store when she ask hows my day goin i say"well i woke up this morning and the sun was shining so i guess i can't complain because somewhere someplace there is someone that has it alot worst than me.

So sorry for your luck.
Not being able to work kills ya.
As far as oboma care that says everyone has to get health insurance or pay a fine???
They won't have anyway to inforce it and if they do the jails will be more than full anyhow.
Thats your last worry.
About half the population in the U.S. has no health insurance .

Good luck and keep r chin up I know its hard.

Good luck peanut. I hope it all works out for the better.
Have you tried advertising for welding jobs? Everyone needs something welded.

Sorry to hear of your hard times Tommy.

$250 for electric and $230 for phone seems pretty high. Is there a way you could cut that down? We have 3 cells cells with unlimited text and nearly unlimited phone and it's only $172.

my name is slowly getting out for welding jobs so hopefully that will pickup soon. the light bill 250.00 is cheap down here sometimes it goes as high as 300.00+ in the winter so i try to cut that down by turning off the heater and just burning the fireplace. the phone bill is high but thats because i have 3 smart phones on it so we can keep track of our 16 year old son. plus with all the wife dr appointments in new orleans we use them for the maps and driving directions. there are cheaper phone companies down here but their coverage is not that good. i have not gone to a place where i lost a call or could not use my phone and when gustav and katrina hit i never lost service the other guys took weeks to get their service back up.i have been calling all over this morning about drug screen prices and not one company screens for 12 drugs they all just screen for 10 and under. i don't know why he is screening for 12 drugs if all he needs to know is if i'm taking the 3 he is prescribing me?things will get better they surely can't get much worst.

Tommy, if ordering a set of stick stoppers for my Kubota RTV 900 XT will help you, please fabricate me a set. This might be a temporary win-win situation for both of us. If this is beneficial to you, please PM me to further discuss plans for stick stoppers. Thanks PEPR

every little bit help i don't want you to get a set just because of this situation but if you really need a set i'll get started on a set for you.i did change the coating on them i now spray them with that spray on bed liner in the can. it held up pretty good in the bed of my hpx so i figured it should do better than regular paint .bordercollie got the first set with the new coating so she's testin it out and the way she works her rtv if it holds up on her's it will take anything. also do you have a new 2011 model?border collie told me they changed the bolt pattern on the ,11 models and she is in the process of getting me a templet . i'll make a set and let you know when they are done should take a week maybe a few days over a week to get them done because i'm still tryin to get my truck back on the road before firewood season hits.just pm me with your address and that way i can send you my address.i think in november i'm gonna rent a rtv for a few days and make all the templets i can for the rear boot guards and also that plastic hydraulic tank too and anything else you guys think you might need .just pm me with all the request of what you would like made for the rtv that way i can make all the templets for it at one time.

FYI, Talk to the dealers of any makes you may be interested in fabricating stuff for before spending money on renting one of their vehicles just to get bolt patterns, etc... I was just at the Kubota Dealer today and a guy was dropping off an RTV he borrowed to fabricate windshields out of lexan for them. The dealer said they didn't charge him to take the RTV provided he would allow them to sell them. Sounded like a good deal since he installed one on the one he borrowed. Doesn't mean that every dealer would be as receptive but with the economy the way it is, they are willing to find every means possible to make a few extra bucks or simply to bring folks into the showroom.

Tommy, where do you get the spray on bedliner? I need some of that stuff.

Good thought AH. Maybe that'll help Tommy out. :thumb:

Peanut, I got off at 10 last night but I will get started on that today. I will just send a tracing of the cutout in the kubota A arm since I think it is smaller that the earlier models- and you can lay your triangular templet on it - and go from there. That way, I can get it in the mail today. I will mail more after I modify the plates to fit the hole pattern. Here's a picture of the curved stick stoppers just mounted where the plastic ones were the holes in them are fine and they are doing their job. The only problem I had was in the 2 sandwich pieces that use the kubota A arm hole on the bottom area. I'll be drilling the flat pieces Peanut sent out with a drill press so they will do fine to mount as intended-. Folks with a drill press could take a set as is and just drill another set of holes for the 2 sandwich pieces.- one of them has some back protection. The kubota A arm also has a set of holes on the backside just like where the stick stoppers are mounted on the front of it. bordercollie

i use the one from walmart or lowes and home depot. i used it in the bed of my hpx and i hauled alot of cement and iron and it held up pretty good.i think the cheapest i found it was around 8 dollars a can some places are 15 dollars but it's under 20 dollars for sure.one can will do one set. i think when i done the bed of my hpx i used 4 or 5 cans. if you put it on painted metal you need to rough sand it first when i use it on bare metal i get better results.

as for the dealer i went to him and made him an offer that if he wanted to let me come in and take measurements i could make any part his customers needed.well he told me that bota makes any part that the rtv owners would ever need and that he didn't want to see me out in his lot takin measurements.but he did say that if i was to come in and buy an rtv that he would let me measure anything on his lot.i never went back the that dealer and it seems he doesn't sell to many rtv's .i can make anything if it's made from plastic i can duplicate it out of iron. i made new rocker panels for my sons truck i make crane parts. i help my brother on some of his crane jobs when he needs a welder. there was one crane that was rust shot. everyone told them they needed a new boom witch was around 60k well my brother told them about me and how i used to build cranes and they said to get me out there to see what i could do.now i could have told them that i would build them a new boom for around 25k but instead i repaired the one they had for 2k boy was they happy to hear that.lol i have a few pictures of that job. i got them to buy the suitcase box and i got to keep it after the job that thing sold for almost 2k the winds was blowin about 50/60mph me and my brother took two dog houses and sat one on the deck in front the crane and them hung the other one on top it with a tarp wrapped under it and around it and i done the job.i do most of my work on jackup boats because i can't go offshore because of the not being able to pass xrays on my back and neck.but as long as it's inland i try to get to the boat or they come to a dock where i can get to them. i'll try to upload some pics of that boat job from my phone.

Don't think I've ever heard of a doctor requiring a "drug contract" before. I do know different places charge different prices for the same thing. Last MRI I had done, the local hospital (where the doc wanted me to go) wanted as much for my part as the total charge for another MRI place about a mile down the road. Different pharmacy's charge different prices for their med's, too. There's a BIG difference sometimes!! And sometimes you can get a deal by contacting the company that makes the med's and explaining you can't afford them.
Good luck!!

yup look it up on the internet it's the dea making them do it.the funny thing is the only place that does the test they requir is quest diagnostics i called all over to find a cheaper place and they all told me that they charge 40.00 and under but thats for a test for up to 10 drugs .the test that the dr wants is for 12 drugs.why have me test for 12 drugs when all he is giving me is 3 and the test is suppose to be just to see if i have the 3 drugs he is prescibing me in my system. i done some resrch on this testing company and it seems that a few banks and even exxon mobil are some major stock holders in them. the dr told me i could wait til november to take the test but thats still alot of money that i have to pay just for a freakin test.sounds like a goverment money maker to me.

second opinion is out of the question .i would have to start all over with a new dr and he would want me to try this test and that test.i have been with this dr for over 8 years .i'm gonna call them back tomorrow and see if he can drop two drugs off the test list so i can get a cheaper test done. with all the nerve block/botox/emg's/mri's/mylograms/x-rays with die injected i done had enough of the needles. just doing the nerve block and botox was a total of 1hour in the dr's office and having to go through 28 injections all in one day.the 3 emg's was just as bad the needles in the nerve and then getting zapped by a stun gun is enough to drive you crazy.if this dr would just drop two drugs off the list it would drop the price down to 40.00 for the test.
