got a massey 4710 and it had developed a rattling noise, so tore it apart and replaced the clutch damper, there was lots of dust, debris, ect. so knew it needed replacing, checked shuttle packs all was good no burnt disc, reassembled with any new oil rings, ect. as needed and still have a rattling noise. it is only when the shuttle is engaged but is much worse when shuttle is put in reverse. gearshift can be in neutral and shuttle engaged either direction and its Very Noticeable, all most sounds like a bearing that is gone, kinda at a loss cause everything else in the shuttle pack and trans looked good, any help would be appreciated

Welcome to this forum. Worth pulling the reverse idler gear and spin that bearing by hand. If it feels gritty, rough, or has any play, that's probably the problem.

well gentleman , found the problem behind the shuttle pack there was 2 gears with broken teeth , i have no idea what broke them but they are in bad shape, so far havent found the pieces either.
