My New Kubota RTV

I am patiently (ya right) waiting for my new Kubota RTV900 to arrive on Wednesday. I have been reading alot of what this group has to say about them and I am liking most of what I hear. I am a little concerned about the ability going up a hill but this issue seems to be hit and miss amongst owners. I guess I will have to try it out for myself once I get it.

Hi KEZ, i've had my RTV about a year now,in NY state, the only time I got it stuck was in deep ( 12 to 15 inch) snow with a thick crust on top. I bought a winch to fix that problem, as far as the hills go I have a few pretty steep ones on my property and as long as you don't want to go up them fast it will be no problem just put it in low range, let up on the gas until you feel the pump kick in and GO. Good luck with yours, I think you will like it.

Congrats on your new RTV Kez.

Just remember that when you get it, it'll be a little tight. This applies to shifting and such but the parts that seem a little sticky will loosen up.

HAVE A NICE DAY !!!!

I am thinking of putting a bed liner in the box of my RTV. I will be hauling sand and gravel and would like to protect the box. Does anyone have the Kubota bed liner? Or would it be better to get a spray in bed liner?

I don't have either but from what I hear, having both is ideal. If you do get the spray-in, almost everyone also removes the rubber floor mat in the passenger compartment and does the floor of the cab as well. (The rubber mat can hold moisture and stones and such.)

I'm having a spray in liner put in my new 1100 today, haven't heard anything good about drop in liners(rust under the liner, durability issues). Have had a Line-X spray in for 8yrs in my 3010 Mule & it's been flawless. Enjoy your new RTV!

MrKubota,
I just saw some pics of a new 1100. Wow does that cab look sweet! Heat, airconditioning...the works! Thanks for your comment. I think I will get a spray in liner myself.

That's what I like about this forum .... Everything !!!! Never even thought about spraying the passenger compartment, I know it would be a BIG PLUS for the unit ..... I can see that project showing up on these here .....

I have a bedliner. I haul firewood, equipment, dirt, ect.
To add impact resistance I put a sheet of aluminum deck plate down on
the bed, then the bedliner over it. There are pictures and links
somewhere on this site. Run a search. My experience has been that
the bedliner has offered far more protection than a spray on
would. The corrigations in the plastic cushion heavy items
preventing dents.

There have been no rust issues.

I had the dealer install the factory plastic bed liner and am very happy with it. I would advise getting the factory liner as it is ribbed and will prevent the bed, particularly the walls, from becoming dinged by loads in the bed.
It cleans easily as well.
As far as spray in liners - they will not offer the same protection and my guess is that they won't be as easy to replace if damaged, compared to the plastic factory liner.
Congrats on your RTV!
