New Fuel Cap

After playing in the snow, I noticed stains around the fuel cap. Cap was tight, I mean TIGHT! Come to find out the tightness was the threads and they were binding up before the cap seated. Went to dealer, he asked if my cap said, in white, "DIESEL ONLY". I said no, he gave me one to try. WOW! it works great. He thought Kubota had cured the problem before my model (early 2007). Anyone know how to get the stain lines off the black plastic?

Good that the new caped worked out for you..... You are lucky, the " new cap " thing didn't work in my situation, matter of fact, we tried two different new caps he had in stock, one with the diesel marking and one without >>>> both poured >>>> had to get a new tank assembly.... That fixed my problem....

As far as the stains, Dawn dishwashing liquid, soft hand cloth or rag, just work it in at a circular motion, and rinse off, this might have to be done a few times. THEN, get you a bottle of STP, Son-of-a-Gun protectant, they have it at wal-mart..... Keep it sprayed on for awhile, it will in time go back to the original color. And also, keep that protectant on your seats, dash, black fender guards, and on all plastic. Not only will it help protect it, it will keep it shiney and new lookin all the time. And when it comes time to wash up the RTV, dirt and mud, etc , will come off so much easier. Then apply it again.

That product works wonders with things. I even spray it on my tires to give the shiney black look all the time .....
