I just traded my Gator XUV 620 for the 2010 Kubota RTV 900 with a Curtis plow and worksite tires it has 130 hours on it.Messicks is about 20 minutes from me that's the dealer I went with gave me a good price for my gator on the trade. The tires seem not nearly aggressive for the snow and woods work I cut a lot of firewood for the outside wood burner ordered a set of 26x10x12Grim Reapers off EBAY from discount tire direct for 423.00 with free shipping best price I could find. The only problem I see with the Kubota there no skid plates for any protection already had to fix the fuel line at the fuel pump a stick came up and cut it Messicks must not of checked the machine out before they sold it to me I have not used it offroad yet.I need a set of Peanuts stick stoppers how can I get a set and does anyone make skid plates also just bought steel to make bed rails to haul more firewood.
Thanks

I run an 04 900 with Grim Reapers and a curtis plow. Works well. Just add 12-15 cinder blocks in the rear or equivalent weigh and you can plow a lot of snow in 2-wheel drive. Don't forget about the floor mounted diff lock if you lose a little traction.

After last year I'm amazed at how much better it plows with weight in the bed.

The reapers are great but stay off your lawn unless you need to till it for planting. They really dig up soft ground.

As an aside, taking it out of 4-wheel drive can be difficult if you just try to pull the lever, but if you put it in neutral and turn the front lock to lock in each direction, it will slip right into 2-wheel.

I'll leave the skid plate comments to more knowledgeable members.

Welcome, Bob

We are supposed to get around 5 inches tonight I can't wait to try it out tomorrow did not mount the grim reapers on the extra set of wheels yet I will get them on this coming week.
Thanks,
Steve

For what it is worth - I have a new RTV-X900 with worksite tires and find that they are terrific in the snow. I've been on our un-plowed roads and trails, with up to 10 inches of snow in all conditions, and have been amazed at how well they work. They are good on sheer ice as well - as much as any non-studded tire can be. Even plowed up a 1/2 inch layer of ice on our road after a recent ice storm and the machine was like a bulldozer.

Kubotas come standard with skid plates so I would ask Messicks what happen to the skid plates. They might have taken it in on trade with out skid plates.
