My warning light telling me my parking/emergency brake light is out on my RTV 900. It's not the bulb but I beleive there is a wire loose somewhere. It use to flicker or come on momentarly but has stopped. How do I find and check the proper wires to get it working again?

HI KAS1263, HAVE YOU CHECKED THE SWITCH UNDER THE BRAKE HANDLE? MINE WOULD DO THE SAME THING UNTIL IT FINALLY QUIT. THE SWITCH ISHIDDEN BY THETHE RUBBER BOOTAROUND THE BRAKE HANDLE. IF I REMEMBER RIGHT, YOU CAN QUICKLY ACCESS IT BY USING AN ALLEN WRENCH TO REMOVE THE PLASTIC SIDE PANEL TO GET EASY ACCESS. YOU CAN JUST MOVE THE PLEATED BOOT BUT IT IS EASIER ON THE SKIN AND KNUCKLES TO JUST MOVE THE SIDE PLASTIC PANEL. THE SWITCH ON MINE CAME WITH A RUBBER CAP ON THE BUTTON WHICH QUICKLY WORE OUT AND THEN FILLED WITH DIRT AND SUCH..... SOME CLEANING MAY HELP BUT YOU MAY NEED A NEW SWITCH... OR IT COULD INDEED JUST BE A WIRE. I WOULD BET ON THE SWITCH THOUGH. GOOD LUCK WITH THIS.. BORDERCOLLIE

BC is probably right............For me, I get down in there with WD40 and work the switch with my finger quite a few times and it begins to work............That is until the next time I was it and I have to repeat the procedure again..............Dennis

OK y'all. Go ahead and confuse me. I was thinking I was BC. :-(

Anyhow, I agree with bordercollie's assessment and fix.

I'd propose hitting it with WD-40 once for the cleaning, then PB Blaster for the lubricating.

Notice mine doing the " blinking " thing about20 hours ago, finally quit, I need to remove the cover and squirt mine with somelub or replace switch.....

My apologies Mr. BC.....and even more to the venerable Border Collie for confusing the issue...............Seems the ol brain kicks in less over time while the fingers/mouth try to dredge up an appropriate reply............Dennis

No apology whatsoever. I was quickly scanning the thread and saw BC. Those initials are used to reference me in other forums so I just got confused. 2 BC's here is perfectly fine with me. BTW - Mr. BC is my Dad. You can just call me Brian.

Got it fixed. Today I took the side panel off, cleaned out the dirt, sprayed a little bit of WD 40, tried it out, and it worked.. Thanks to all!!!
