Old Style RTV Transmission Filter Change

I got my RTV 900 filter kit and 5 gallons of sudt2. Opened up the box and realized that the old orange rear filter has been replaced by a white one. Just to make sure, I called the dealer that shipped it to me and they said the orange one has been discontinued...To satisfy myself, I put them side by side and looked at the interior and all seems the same... gonna miss that old orange filter ..LOL
These are a couple of pictures of the filters... also got the rebate info sent off so I can get that $ back.
I cleaned off the magnetic plug and that is what can be seen on the paper towel. Newbies, always remember to make sure that the plug's gasket doesn't come off in the draining process.
I finished my transmission change then greased the rear ujoints- (It really helps to have the rear tires off but can still be done. Time to change the engine oil tomorrow- if the cows cooperate.

edit: My hand got caught between a running cow and the gate last week. Thought I had broken it.. fine now, swelling and bruising almost gone. Made the job a lot easier to be able to bend my hand .

Glad you posted this, Bordercollie. I ordered a filter kit yesterday from Messick's to do a baseline filter & fluid change on the new-to-me '05 900 that I recently purchased. If it comes in without the orange filter I would be really confused since every picture that I've seen posted until now had the orange can. Should have my package in a couple of days and will see what it has in it.

Yes it was changed I had to make the call myself.I wont look back in threads to show ya but you better get on the Ball and pay attention lol.Either way I still love ya .
 
PS Collie ifyou really really really miss the orange filter ill send you a can of orange spray paint so you wont be so depressed lol. Yes im full of it today.

I went Kubota deler today thay said $ 31 and $36
how do pay for them?
 
Hi Sheepfarmer, You can check out the Messick Equipment site in frequently used items to get an idea of what they cost here in the US. I bought the Kubota RTV 900 filter kit which has an oil filter , fuel filter, the air filter and 2 hydraulic filters for less than $80 plus shipping. E bay also has 'em. collie
