Onfoot returns....

Hi guys. Wanted to let you know that I am still alive and kicking. Didn't intend to drop off the forum, but went through a significant job change which changed how I manage my time on the computer. Appreciate Zoom's efforts to remind me from time to time that I was missed.

Looks like there has been a lot going on since I last checked in, so lots of catching up to do. I am flat on my back with sciatica (a new experience for me) so have some time to mess around a bit, as cannot do much else for a while.

Nothing much to say about my RTV except that I put a nice dent in the rear tailgate when I was dumping gravel with the tailgate down and the receiving hitch mounted. Ah well. Looks like a working machine now.

I have also ordered a new implement, but will use another post to describe.

Anyway, feels good to be back.

Thanks for the welcome. Feels good to be back.

And impressed by the number of helpful and interesting conversations that have been going on. Happy to see some new blood, too. Feels kinda like family, almost!

And sure do agree with EastTexFrank. Sciatica is no fun. But I have discovered some stretching exercises that seem to be helping. And this summer I finally got our cedar hot tub up and running and there is nothing like floating in deep hot tub to make your back relax.

Hey those hot tubs are the ticket for us old guys. They make life bearable when the aches overwhelm you. Glad you are back. I lost your e-mail along with a lot of folks when my computer crashed a month or so ago.

Was starting to wonder if maybe you were out cruising the Yukon R in your RTV when the ice went out last July. Good luck with that back pain...ouch!

Thanks for the sympathy, Kanook. Sciatica really is a pain in the butt. But I am on the mend. The hot tub definitely helps, Muleman! It's a cedar hot tub, about 4' deep and heated with a propane thermosiphoning heater from Japan. More like a Japanese soaking tub, as it does not have any jets. But I can float in it with my head just resting on the edge, which is really nice on the back and very nice to listen to the owls and watch the stars come out. Starting to be dark now by 9:30. Won't be long until the ice hardens on the river... :-)
