Ramsey switch installation

I am installing a 2500 Ramsey winch to my RTV 900. Everything has gone smoothly until I got to the switch installation part. I can't understand the instructions.

Where does the remote and stationary switch go? Pictures would be most helpful.

If I understand your install and question correctly, you have a Ramsey that has a dash switch as well as a wired remote (with probably a 12' or so lead). For your dash switch, which kind do you have? Is it a 3-way switch (in, out and the middle is neutral) that mounts through a round hole that's put somewhere?

I don't have any pictures but...

For the dash switch, I have the one mentioned above (3 way that mounts through round hole). I drilled a hole through the dummy plate that covers the hole for the hazard lights and put the switch in there.

For a wired remote, I'd probably coil up the lead and secure that remote under the front hood. The wired remote is to give you the capability to operate the winch remotely from the drivers seat so you have a better view or for safety reasons. Sitting under the hood, you then pop the hood and pull out your remote so you can run the winch from the front or side of the RTV.

Thanks BZ. My switch is a three way but is retangular. It has a brace with it that can screw somewhere on the dash. I was think of putting it in the hole for the turn signals but am worried about not doing it right and screwing up the dash. I like your idea of just wrapping the cord and putting it up front.

The hole/plug for the turn signals is just a little piece of plastic that's held in place by clips. If you screw it up, it's not part of the main dash as it's just a little clip in piece that's probably pretty easy to replace.

I'd say "go for it"!!!

This is the way I installed the Ramsey winch switch. Had to put it up-side down, for the mounting arm would hit in the corner of the dash if it was mounted right-side up. Being I'm the only one that will be using it. I imagine I can read a couple of words up-side down.
