Roxor Starter

I replaced the starter on my 2018 manual Roxor this past week. Evidently the oem s are prone to go bad because of moisture and or dust. This is my 2nd replacement. It's a long story but it would just spin at times last year so I ordered one on ebay this is supposedly an upgrade - back then. Then the weather was dry and the first replacement starter began to work fine again. Because of that, I put the one I ordered on the shelf. Was glad I had it since this one began really acting up recently.. was worried about being stranded so I'd leave the Roxor running when working on the fence.
All of that ended when I remembered where I had stored the new one, and put it on. I had to wait till the temperature was above freezing during the day since my fingers aren't as nimble but it all worked out. I also ordered new battery terminal clamps since I had those undone to change out the starter.
You will need a few different sized sockets and some extensions. 2 of them were size 13 and 17 mm. The small size for the little wire , I don't remember.
Now the Roxor cranks nicely. Also supposedly this newest starter is improved - not sure about that but will find out I guess... the numbers are slightly different .

Good job. You've had the Roxor 8 years now. Seems to have served you very well. When it's time to replace it would you get another Roxor or would you switch back to a RTV?
For those new here bordercollie owned a few RTV and put them through their paces. Put over 4000 hours on one of them and is a guru at fixing anything that can go bad on them.

Those are kind words Doc. I liked the 2 simple RTV 900s that I put thru their paces for sure. I can't do what I used to once did as far as remembering. Getting old is the pitts. argh...
I probably will get an automatic Roxor if I get anything else. I need the slow control of an automatic to spray fences , herd cows and pushing the clutch pedal is hard on my hip joint . The price would kill me though so just keeping what I have till it or I give up the ghost . ha
Also have my late parents little automatic 1994 Toyota truck, just like mine , that needs lots work and if it is fixable, use it in the dry months. I would love that ! So would Dixie because it has ac. :)
