I wouldn't think there would be a problem with fuel delivery by replacing the mech pump with an electric one, except the original design is usually a very dependable set up that is all under the same parameters as far as delivery pressure and all that jazz. and all that being said if you change the supply pressure you could also adversely affect the fuel ratio and cause bigger problems down the road. i hope this info helps
