RTV 900 rear axles

I have a RTV 900 I am trying to replace the axles in. I have the engine and trans out of it(just rebuilt HST) and I have the rear tube out and cannot get the outer half of the axle out of the tube. Is there a secret to it or am I not doing something right?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I wonder if this will help? According to my manual you remove the slotted nut and draw out the rear axle then you tap the outside of the propeller shaft with a rubber hammer and remove it to the INSIDE. When you put it back together you use a pipe of the same diameter of the inner bearing and tap it in place. etc..fine adjustments can be made by tightening the slotted nut. Good Luck . Bordercollie
 
Thanks Bordercollie! I finally got them out. The bearings were just rusted in place. A good smack and they popped right out!! Again, Thanks for your help. I will definetley call on you in the future.
