I've seen a few pictures on the internet of RTV's with gloveboxes. Anyone know where I can acquire one of those? One of the RTV's biggest design flaws is the lack of storage space. I also have a Yamaha Rhino, and the Rhino has 10 times the useable storage space as the RTV and it is a much smaller unit. I'd appreciate any information on how to get the glovebox for the RTV.

I don't know how I got to be "anonymous" when I first posted this. Anyway, it's me who posted.[:D]

I think the only glove box available is a dealer option. (around $100)

Welcome to the forum.

Dargo,

The only one I've seen so far is the Kubota. Todd has talked about making one but is too busy with the Rhino accessories right now. I started working on an alternative. Are you familiar with the small 12v coolers/heaters that hold about 6 cans? They fits nicely in there. Once it warms up I'm going to make a mount and put it in. Unplugged it can store stuff.

Cool. Let me know how it works out. Since I now haul my RTV to do most of my riding, storage space is important. I have now noticed how little it has. I wish I could leave a suggestion for Kubota to come up with some real storage solutions for the RTV. Their answer seems to be a bad joke at best.[:$]

Thanks.

Been following a couple of different forums, it appears to be the same people at the different sites. There does not seem to be a lot of chatter with regards to the RTV. Some of the other sites seem to be more dedicated to the other brands. The information on some of the interchangeable products ie. winch, tires, rims etc. is still useful and makes the sites worth scanning.

Is something likethe toolbox FL_Cracker got an option for you? (it's a cross box toolbox like what you would put in a pickup).

Gator,

Yes, for the most part, it's many of us at the same sites. Each site is a little different. Although we talk about the RTV in general here, I would say this site is the best for any technical issues with the RTV. Re. the "chatter", things traditionallly slow down in the winter months. For those of us in the north, it's too cold to work on them (modifications, accessories...) and we're also getting little riding time. I can't haul firewood or whatever if it's buried under the snow.

Dargo, I bought the rtv 900 glovebox from my dealer($120). not worth it. you have to have the key in to open it . I doubt it will be rain proof because it does't fit tight. I made a toolbox out of angle iron(lid surround)and thin steel.I keep my fence tools in it along the drivers side and it works well (14x 46x 12) waterproof too. I use a canvas tool bag under the hood to hold small fence parts. Theglove box is also horizontal, so things slide out easy. It would be better if it had a push button opener like the Mule. good luck [H], bordercollie

One of the other sites has an interesting post setting forth the fact that all of the parts for the Kubota RTV glove box can be purchased and shipped to you from Tractorsmart.com for less than $50, if you are still interested in a glove box. I installed one I put together from the parts and it isn't quite the cheese box some claim. It provides some storage space, but I wouldn't want to store the family jewels in there.

AJ,

Welcome to the forum!!! Stick around and post often.

I recall that thread. It's been awhile but I have the same impression of the box now as I did then.

Thanks Brian, I still appreciate the help you gave me on my electrical problem with the blown dashboard fuse!

I went roaring up on a hog trap the other day, slammed it into reverse and rapidly switched my worklights from front to rear and blew that fuse again. This time I was prepared though, courtesy of the lesson I learned from you. Having both sets of work lights on the same switch keeps the relay from being overloaded, but I still need to stop for a second in the middle (off) position before switching to the other side, or it blows the dashboard fuse.

On another front, I had zippers installed in the fabric camo top to accomodate all of the lights I installed, forgot I hadthe topon and drove to East Texas with the RTV on a trailer. By the time I noticed it was shredded. I broke down and had the top covered with Camo Clad matching the sides. I'll post a picture one of these days soon.

Take care, and thanks again.

Glad I could help with the electrical.

I have a lot of lights on my RTV but no relays. No blown fuses for me[:D]

That stinks about your top getting ripped apart. My terrain/trails make it where I'm brushing up against branches and such. For that reason, I've avoided all soft materials.

Brian

PS. I don't visit TBN much anymore. If you want to talk RTV's or whatever, here's where you'll find me.
