Does anyone know where i can get a rear window from? I've called and e-mailed Essex mfg. No responce,it's been 2-weeks. Has anyone made their own or bought one somewhere else? It's just now getting cold in Georgia and that air gets cold on the back of your neck.

Thanks,

Essex (Toll Free: 1-888-643-7739 ) is where I purchased mine.

Or you can try ALL TERRAIN ONLINE.COM ( Toll Free Phone: 1-877-896-7565 ) , they are some super forks there. We've purchase much from them and very pleased with everything that come from that company .....

Ben,

I've considered a rear window but opted out. My main reasoning was cleaning and access. Between the high air intake, some work lights, conduit to roof wiring... I figured removal (mainly to clean between the new window and existing mesh) would be a bugger.

How about just getting yourself (and any passengers) a balaclava or neck gaiter? They work great whether you're on the RTV or anywhere else.

We installedspacers so we could get arag/ small brush behind ours. But don't get me wrong, it's a tight fit. Just takes a little longer to wash up.....

Been meaning to reply for several days now; but was wanting to double check how we did it; but havent...............anyway........We used a piece of plexiglass/acrylic available most anywhere that is cut to size. We used the existing bolts that hold on the metal grid/grill over the window. Ours is placed on the inside of the grill. Simply hold it in place, mark the holes, drill them, and bolt up.

We haul a lot of hay up to and above the top of the cab. Yes, some gets between the grill and "glass"; but historically washes right out............Dennis

I have been wondering about using a piece of plexiglass as a rear window. Your idea of placing it under the grill (if I understand you correctly) sounds like a great idea. Priced a piece at the local hardware store for about $20.

Welcome to the forum Statecreek !!!!

If Ihad to do, that's what I'd probobly would do. I have the back sliderwindow..... If you use longer bolts, you caninstall small PVC pipeor something similar tojust a little bit bigger than thebolt. Spacing the glass / mesh will giveone more room to clean up the area.I put some spacer on duringinstallation, and serves purpose good, but, whenhunting season in over, going to bring the RTV back to the shop from the farm, and install longer spacers soit will even be easier to wash up.

When doing your measurement on the back window, would be wise to measure ALL that can be serviced with the plexi-glass, for the slider purchased, suppose to come with another part to cover the bottom of the back, but didn't know about it until later that it was sold as a seperate part. But that's ok, going to fix all of this when I extend the spacers. Muchdust tries to come in the back during the dryer months around the fields ......

I can say, that back glass kept much COLD air from freezing the back of the ears and neck. Our RTV has servedus well, for we are using ours in our second hunting season, and has really impressed us everytime it has been used !!!!!

Mine has a soft back window. It had snaps on the top & bottom, velcro on the sides. I added velcro to the bottom to keep the dust & cold out. Plowing when it's -5F, you really feel the drafts!!!!

I'm sure that any canvasshop could make one up, I'd skip the snaps if I was starting from scratch. Easy On - Easy Off.

Thanks for the warm welcome!!!

That is a good idea with the spacers, that would allow for debri to fall through and not get trapped between the grill and glass. I am going to go ahead and take some measurements and get a piece of plexi-glass for the back and look at my options for spacers. I can see the benefit of having the back glass to cut down on some of the wind and rain entering the cab. Thanks for the great ideas and I will keep everyone posted on the outcome.

Well, finally got a hold of Essex mfg. ordered a rear window. Got it today and installed it. A few minor mods and it fits pretty good. Does a good job of keeping the cold air off the back of your neck. I like the sliding window for summer time to get air in.Got to go back and add spacers to make it easier to clean behind. thanks for the advice TwoGuns.
