RTV X1100 - Hydrostatic Transmission

Just curious how many RTV X owners have an oil tube between the piston case and the lower part of the HST , that would be the furthest rear point on the HST on the upper right, not sure if mine is an early model or what but there is no oil line between the piston cover and the lower portion of the HST. When I was at the dealer I noticed at least one model of the RTV X's had the oil line and in the shop manual there are some pictures of the HST with it there and some with nothing as mine has.

The concern is why the oil line is there to begin with and secondly on mine that it is an unprotected point on the back of the HST if I were to back into a low wall that would be the point of impact and then it would it hit the 2 small round rubber bumpers lower on the back HST plate of the RTV.

Also visible in the picture are the 4 hydraulic connections for the rear Hitchworks 3 Point.

Obviously a good question blk, I have a 900 but I am certain some of the others will respond.

Not sure I understand where you are talking about. I will look at mine if I know what I'm looking for.

I do not have the other 4 hydraulic quick couplers. Where in relationship to them are you talking about

Just went to the barn and fed. Looked at mine and it looks just like the pic above except for the aux hydraulic couplers. Mine was built late January.

The upper part appears to project about an inch beyond the bumpers.

By the "upper part" I mentioned above I mean the piece that projects rearward that is round and has a hex head next to the housing. Not sure if it's a valve or what but just wanted to clarify.

That is correct, it covers the piston on the Hydrostatic Transmission, on some of the RTV X models it projects less and has a nut on the back and an oil line to the lower portion of the transmission. If I can get a picture successfully from the service manual I will post it later.

Pop, thanks for checking, the Kubota Service manager was also looking into it as well to see if it was part of the alleged "go fast" mod that was done to the 1120 to get the 3 extra MPH out of it. What I found good about it was the fact that is does not stick out past the rear most rubber bumpers shown in your picture.

Harry,
I never got an answer on why the difference, maybe a dealer or tech who visits this forum could come up with an answer.

I was reading that the 1140 transmission is a little different has more flow to climb hills better and increase the top speed by 4 mph. I bet that oil line on the back might have something to do with that. I figured it was faster because of less weight of about 300 pounds and no drag from the windshield but it seems to be because of the transmission.

Thanks Richard. My dealer is only 12 miles away so I guess I'll head that way and see what they say about it. King, I'll ask if trans are different or not. If not and it's a oil line for more climbing power it would be worth it to add I would thank.
