RTV's used and abused

Well, I like my RTV's. They have been with me three years now (900's). The door hinges have been reworked, strykers replaced, and rear axle u-joints (assemblies) replaced. Other than that ( 2000 hrs on each) only one question. One of my units will creep in the oposite direction of the gear. If you put it in "L"... or "M"... or "H" it creeps backward, in reverse it creeps foreward. As soon as you press the accelerator it resumes normal function????? These machines tow a trailer, run loads of rock and mulch, and plow in the winter.

If you have u-joint failure in your early RTV 900, opt for the complete greaseable assembly from later models. Its worth it!

If you have multiple people operating your RTV. Instruct them that there is a difference between the radiator overflow resivor and the hydraulic (power steering) resivor! Its bad when steering fails!

On the subject of the tranny creeping the opposite way, I would check the linkage / cable settings on the machine ..... That would be the first thing I would look at ~~~~ But that's just my opinion ..... [*-)]

I am a firm believer in greasing things, love them grease fittings, that way I am guaranteed it's getting all the grease it needs ~~~~~
