Snow in your pocket

Choosing the right winch is driving me crazy. Warn XT 30 - syn rope, wireless $475, but on the light side (3000) , but fits 1 1/2 rule. RT 40 (4000) But no syn rope, no wireless $450 + $300 ($750). Warn Tabor 9000 Jeep entry winch $495 (over-kill for same price)no syn or remote, 100ft cable. Ramsey 5000, like it but no dealer up in my area. I have a Master Warn dealer 30 miles from farm and he stocks the complete line plus services them. The only thing I know for sure is I am mounting outside the pocket. ( thanks, Two Guns) Five trips out in the snow, five snow packed pockets.

When I read the title "Snow in your pocket", I thought this was going to be about the piece of lint you find in your pants pocket where the cash used to be for buying RTV accessories.

"RT 40 (4000) But no syn rope, no wireless $450 + $300 ($750)." What's the extra $300 for?

I wouldn't be afraid of getting a Ramsey off the internet. Warn and Ramsey are both quality winches and should give many, many years of service without issue. The Amsteel is available most anywhere as well. I would propose you definitely get the Amsteel. Unless you expect all winching to occur from the drivers seat, the wireless is fantastic.

If you're into snow that's almost up to the RTV lettering in the grill guard, keep an eye on a couple things.
The first is the stick stoppers for the front CV joints. With a good snow impact (the hard packed stuff) coupled with the cold temp on the plastic can crack/break them.
Hmmm, now I can't remember the other. I was picking snow out of that pocket a couple weeks ago and told myself to watch something next time... now I just don't recall what it was.

If anybody needs to get some aftermarket stick stoppers, give me a pm, and I will help you from there.

I, the other day, purchased a set of them off the internet, and they were a joke !!!! Smaller & flemsy built pieces of crap, and I just blew 85 plus $ on something I cannot use, and will not install on my RTV ......

Having a fabricator build me a set. They should be in a few days. And I will post a pic and tell yall how heavy duty they are. And then, I will let ya'll folks know who you need to contact to get him to fabricate you a set.....
