I (knowing better now) cut off my spark arrestor years ago, well the tail pipe finally broke off yesterday. I was lucky enough to find it. So, I was going to fab a spark arrestor simular to the one moosejaw did, and weld it back together. But I need some help with the dimensions. I sure would appreciate the help.

Wish I could help. Ours was the old style at the end of the pipe.

Give it time, someone will step in with a good answer ....

Yes dont worry about the arrestor if you have the old pipe fashion a plate with a hole in it for the tail pipe to slip through and weld that on then clean up the muffler area and weld the plate on there.Wit a wire welder if you have one you should be able to fabricate something. These are the days I wish I lived closer to peeps to help them out when in need.

What Mark said. I kept my old one and should I ever need to replace my current muffler , I have one ready to go.. My dealer gave me one the first time and I don't intend for it to happen again. If you just clean it up and weld the exterior pipe on a piece of plate and weld that on the muffler with a good bead, it should do you fine. Bear in mind that the metal is thin is why I would add the piece of plate. .. bordercollie

I need to go look at mine again. I don't understand why everybody worries about it,,,but some break? I cut my screen off,,and did not see any reason to brace or leave anything attached. Mine just bolts on to the end of the muffler. Those 2 bolts should hold the little bitty pipe end to the muffler with no problems.

Is mine different? I will look tonite when i get home. :confused2:

thats a real long pipe compared to mine bordercollie. Mine (from memory) is only 2-3 inches long and weighs nothing. Might even be slash cut on the end? Mine is 1100,,not a 900,,,muffler in rear.
