<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">I am no stranger to Kubota and currently own a Kubota Z-turn mower and Tractor and I never had any intentions of buying anything else but the Kubota RTV900 (don’t even know where the local John Deer dealer is<SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Wingdings; mso-ascii-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-hansi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-char-type: symbol; mso-symbol-font-family: Wingdings"><SPAN style="mso-char-type: symbol; mso-symbol-font-family: Wingdings">J</SPAN></SPAN>), but after reading some of the owner reviews on this site I was thinking I should just keep my Polaris 700 and continue to load it up ala the Beverly Hillbillies every time I go out to work in the woods. </P>

<P class=MsoNormal style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt">After reading your enthusiastic posts on Thursday I went to my Polaris/Kubota dealer and traded in the Polaris for a RTV900. It was at the shop today having its bed and passenger compartment sprayed thanks to your recommendations. I am looking forward to delivery on Monday. I also ordered a ½” rubber matt (recycled tires) cut to the beds dimensions from my local hardware store. It of course is black with orange flecks in it<SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Wingdings; mso-ascii-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-hansi-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-char-type: symbol; mso-symbol-font-family: Wingdings"><SPAN style="mso-char-type: symbol; mso-symbol-font-family: Wingdings">J</SPAN></SPAN>. This should help protect the bed from me hurling logs into it. I also ordered the high mount kit for the air filter (thanks again).</P>

You'll love it. The more time you spend on the RTV's the more they seem to impress you.

Congrats on your new RTV. I just spent the weekend on my new RTV 900 and all I can say is "what a machine!" I had it down by my lakefront, which required some serious hill climbing. The thing is like a little tank when you lock in the differential lock. It climbed hills I never dreamed it would be able to climb. I then used the Warren 3000 pound winch, attached to it, to drag out a dock that was under water. This dock was metal with cement pads on it. It was HEAVY! The Kubota beared down and pulled the dock out without sliding down the hill. It really was amazing. I am more impressed with it every time I use it. It seems to be a real conversation piece, everyone stops and wants to see it and talk about it. Enjoy!

Just received delivery yesterday (Tuesday) and only had time for a few joy rides with wife and son (5 year old). My son Nick thinks it's a jeep, so it's name is Orange Jeep and although my wife explained to Nick that it was "a big toy for a big boy" she confessed that she was looking forward to using it to aid her in the garden.</P>


My only dissapointment so far is it did not fit into the shed (too high) waiting anxiously for it's arival. So my 4th of July festivity will be taking the shed's dirt floor down a couple of inches.</P>

Steve,

Not sure how/where you carry your son but you may want to consider getting a middle seatbelt. I have 2 kids that ride with me regularly. Depending on where we're riding, I want them to wear a seatbelt. I got an automotive one and put it in the center seat.
 
I have a 2 year old daughter that loves riding on the Kubota. She rides right beside me and I just strap her into the passenger seat belt. The seat belt allows for movement so she can be in the middle with the seatbelt on and her mom can be in the passenger seat. With two kids does anyone see a problem with putting them both in the passenger belt together? Is this safe? I will be having two children riding with me at times and I want them to be safe when I accidently take my foot off the gas and the RTV comes to a hault.

Kez,

Being a safety issue (and we're talking about kids), I can't openly advocate shortcuts.
Not using a seatbelt is the worse thing. Not using them properly has inherent risks as well.
Do what you think is best.
