Triangle plates by PTO

What are these 2 triangular plates used for. They both pivot up and down. Thanks in advance. This is on a L4330. BTW is it ok to post here or is it strickly RTV's?

I'm sure someone will tell us if we ain't supposed to talk about tractors.

Does your tractor have a Mid-PTO. PTO shaft underneath the transmission pointing forward??

If so, I'm gonna say those brackets have to do with lifting/lowering a Mid Mount Mower.

If not, I'm clueless.
