Has anyone had experience with the V6270 Post Driver. I am seeing stories on how inadequate the aux hyraulic system is on the RTV other then just dumping?.. I have a lot of fencing to pound in. Will this post driver work well enough? Thanks

I'm interested too. I wonder how well the aux hydraulic system would work. I have a splitter I would like to hook up.

Remember that the hydraulic tools for the RTV don't use the dump circuit, they were built for the machines sold with as utility models. Extra extras like an auxiliary cooler, tank, high mount air intake, etc. were included in the utility package and machines equipped that that system have a "Hydraulic Utility Valve" decal on the tailgate.

Yes I have the utility model

I have the WS model both in 2005 and now this 2011. It has the hydraulic dump with the quick disconnects but no factory cooler. also a plastic tank under tailgate area. I put a hydraulic cooler on mine so I could use the hydraulic weed wiper without the oil overheating. I just unplugged the dump hoses and plugged my wiper's hoses in.) It was only used to adjust the height of the wiper occasionally and not constantly.
I think the older utility models have the oem cooler near the battery location. Not sure of the new ones.
With the price of the Kubota post driver being so extremely high, and having to drag those hoses around I would not be for it at all. I am aiming to get a driver like the one Arthuritis linked about (the Rohrer 99E-R looks grand .... but not, no way would I consider the the striker brand). I could get a nice gas driven compressor with a reeled air hose and that driver for not much more money than the cumbersome Kubota setup and then.. I would have a nice portable air compressor to sandblast with to boot. I sand blasted my way through college with a compressor my Dad made (out of scrap iron parts and a 16 hp engine) Still have the blaster but the heavy compressor was left in La when I moved- so stupid... I regret it to this day.. collie

Hmmm... I didn't know that. Oh well. I wonder if I could hook up the splitter in place of the backhoe on my BX24... I better research that I guess.

Yea, I like it . This is the video that I saw . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7HJrEVtj2Xg
I have driven probably a thousand T posts the last 2 years with the han held pipe driver, and then started using the skid steer bucket positioned just right, to do a ton more. They will bend that way though if it is real dry .
The small air compressor is nice too. I would need a compressor 10 times the cfm bigger than that to also sandblast with though.. darn... ( trying to justify one) collie

I like the dog!!! i would rather play with the dog than build fence any day.

Me too Arthuritis . :) By the way, a very similar compressor looks to be on A mazon for $585. [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Industrial-Air-Contractor-CTA5090412-Compressor/dp/B002MKP5PQ/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1446513427&sr=8-4&keywords=5hp+gas+air+compressor[/ame] collie

A pressure regulator is required to keep the pressure between 70 /75 PSI Higher than that trouble.

I have the utility model. It runs my wood splitter just fine, maybe not as fast as a gas model but you need time to put the logs in. Its also nice because you can park it downwind. Also runs a pretty good jackhammer. The hoses are heavy, so best to use it for stationary implements .

Good to hear. Is your jack hammer from Kubota?

Down here on the gulf coast we just build fence when the ground is soft...and make my wife hold the post. We have done 30 post in less than an hour. If the ground is hard I put a round bale on the front.
