vht problems

I have an RTV900w6 which I purchased new in early 07. It has never been abused nor has it been worked hard. A couple month ago I began having problems with an occasional lockup when going from one range to another. Once this lockup occurs. it refuses to go in any direction in any range. The engine revs and it sounds like it is trying to go. but doesn't. To get it to go I have to get out and rock it back and forth a couple of times, get in it and go. The range selector moves with same resistance as usual, but it simply seems as though something is locking. It doesn't seem as though its locking in 2 gears because if that were the case, it would move when selector move from the second range. It has me baffled. Anybody had any similar problems, and if so, what was done about it? Overall its a great vehicle, but I,m almost afraid totake it to the deales because they have no clue as to what might be wrong. As any owner knows, that could get really expensive really quick. Any suggestions? Thanks

Sorry about your problem. First, how many hours ?Have you serviced your unit ? If so, what kind of filters and fluids were used& also, did it act like this " before " the service ? Sounds something like a filter is stopped up." OR " the wrong fluids is in the machine.

Let's first talk about the service work .>>> Did you or the dealerdo it ?

By listening to your post, you have not got very much faith in your mechanic at the dealer >>>>

Kicked back thinking, might want to check your " presure relief knob thingy " make sure it's all the way in and not out of adjustment .

And, wouldn't hurt for you to check all your cables andadjustments on your shifter, of course, something is not right, but I know some of thesimple things will drive me crazy. How's the air filter, fuel filter, condition of your fuel ?

There is so many things one has to checkon one of these machines.

Did your transmission slowly fall into the mode, or suddenly ?

When you say "lockup", are you referring to the shift lever being locked and unable to move from one range to another or is the lever in a range but the machine refuses to move as though the hand brake were holding it back???????????
