Well a Superwinch Terra 45 fit a x1100?

Has anyone installed a superwinch terra 45sr on a 2014 x1100? Superwinch said they are wider and the bolt pattern doesn't match up. KFI has a mount they clam well work with a superwinch. Has anyone mounted a terra and what did you have to do?
Thanks, Harry

I mounted my winch on a plate welded to a 2 inch bar that fits into the tow receiver on the front or the back. That way I can move it to the end that needs it the most. Then there's no need to match bolt patterns to the buggy.

DITTO. I bought the KFI winch plate online when I purchased the winch. (for 45$ It wasn't worth my time to build one). I mounted my Terra 45 to that, then had to weld a 4" section of 2" tubing to it because it wasn't long enough to line up the pin holes. You'll get far more use out of it when you can swap it from front to rear. At least I will.

Harry,
I installed a Superwinch Terra 45 on my 2014 X110C. I purchased a step bumper receiver hitch from Advance Auto and bolted it upside down to the original mounting spot for the winch. This allows me to move it to the back, or remove it completely when I put my snow blade on. It also has it mounted higher so it doesn't plow into the ground when going down a steep hill. I need to make or purchase a receiver extension in order to put the winch in the back, the arms hit the frame before I can get the pin in. I purchased the winch and receiver adapter from Northern Tool.

Great installation VA100. That would be a lot more versatile cause you don't always get stuck where you need to pull from the front.

Thanks everybody for your replies. That a nice setup VA1100. I did stop at the shop tonight and measured everything. Kubota has two sets of mounting holes pre drilled. Those holes match the terra and would aloud it to be moved side to side for centering the drum the best I can tell. I have the winch at home and well take it to the shop and see for sure in a few days. Superwinch said it would not fit. Maybe they were thinking of the older ones, hope, hope. The best I can tell as of tonight it well fit. We well see.

Ok folks, a superwinch terra 45sr well fit a 2014 x1100c. Took it to the shop tonight and it fits in there perfect, no problems. When I contacted superwinch about fitment they told me that it wouldn't fit and to use Kubota's 4000# winch kit, its a superwinch also. I'll bet since the 2014 front guard is different from 2013 and earlier and they didn't realize this is why I was told it wouldn't fit. Just a guess. Anyhow I'm one happy puppy.

Did you ever post pics or did I miss it? The reason is I bought a 2014 rtv x900,which was on loan to the Cincinnati bUngals, and wondered if the superwinch would fit? My guess is this rtv will start out strong but never finish a job, LOL. Yeah the big "B" is still on the hood along with black stripes everywhere.

No, I never did post any pictures. Mine is a x1100 and I don't know for sure if the front bumper guard is the same as the x900's. My guess is it is. I really do need to post pictures sometime. I've done a ton of stuff to it since then. I'm not the best on a computer and that's the reason I've haven't messed with picture posting yet. Sorry....

Thanks for the reply orangebuggy. Just ordered one. $191.00 delivered to the door. Does anybody use the Winch Cable Hook Stopper or do they just get in the way? This is going to come in handy as I just had 100 ash trees logged out thanks to the ash borer. Firewood everywhere.

Good deal. I also went with Super winch's wireless control so I didn't have to wire in the switch or the cable remote, thou the cable remote would come in handy if the wireless remote quit. Maybe I should do that one of these days. :bonk:
