Wiper Blade

I never looked at the blade on my RTV-X1100C to see if it's just a standard blade or something special but has anyone put a winter style blade on theirs? My stock blade was a frozen chunk of ice today blowing snow in the wind.

Weather has been brutal here this winter. We got days of thaw and pouring rain, then wake up in the morning it has went from plus1 Celsius to minus 39 overnight.
I am happy to report though, during the thaw and rain I thought for sure I was going to have to get the tractor and loader out, but I decided to try the RTV with standing water on the snow and it actually blew it just as well as powder!!

Now I'm buried in snow again.

Had the same problem with the stock blade on my RTV-X900 last winter. It's just a standard J-hook style blade, nothing special.
I got tired of chipping ice off it, so I swapped it out for a Bosch ICON blade. It's one of those beam-style blades without the metal frame that freezes up. It made a huge difference. No more frozen joints, and it hugs the windshield way better in the wind. I think it was a 20-inch blade, but it's always a good idea to measure yours first.
Sounds like you're having the same crazy weather we are. Stay safe out there!

For the last 9 years I have used winter blades and they make a difference.

Just make sure the blade is designed for flat windshields. Made the mistake of buying one for a curved automotive windshield. Didn't work so swell.

Good Point, but the windshield on my RTV-XC and my former X1100C is not flat!

Thanks for the suggestions. I have used the ICON blades on my truck and SUV. I'll try one on the RTV.

I have one of those strange yards. I got Lake Superior in front and small mountains to the rear of my property, so the wind is NEVER blowing in the same direction. I can aim the chute so it is blowing away from me, then get half way down my driveway and I'm getting buried. It almost swirls, you can rarely get the snow away from you when blowing.
