Here's a "Talk About Anything" thread

I am not gone yet but the docs don't give me long to go. Hospice folks were here today and at least I am back home. My kidneys are failing badly and the pain pills knock my bp down to unsafe levels. taking morphine now. Many thanks to all the fine folks I have met on the forums.

Best brush killer that won't kill me

Thomson's brush killer is what you want. I buy mine from the local Agway. I got rid of acres of multi-flora with it at the old farm.

    Boss Plow oil leak

NAPA has plow oil in quarts for about $7. Use a gear oil spout to fill with.

Trouble in keeping running in cold

Good heater to warm the fuel and filter. Dump some kerosene in it to lower the gel point. I dump kero in all my diesels every winter and my fuel is already winter blend which has kero mixed from the dealer. Never had a gel problem on my own stuff but have thawed out a ton of others.

-13 with a -38 wind chill this morning. We are up -5 with bright sunshine but tonight they say -20 or worse with wind chills -40 or lower. Had to warm up the snowplow pump on my truck this morning to plow back drifts. Glad I left the chains and a load of wood on it. I have had my skid steer...

    New RTV owner

Doc has the procedure for toning down the hydro brake here on the forum somewhere. It is pretty basic to adjust it. The receiver hitch on the early models were 1 1/4 tube. You can weld on a 2 in. or do like I did and drill out the hole on the hitch to hold the larger balls. I used mine to move...

It works real well for weed killer on the fenceline. Tomorrow is my big test day! Get a liver scan and a bone scan. They drilled my butt for more bone marrow on Friday since my blood work is so whacked out lately.:yum::yum:

    Replacement Battery for RTV 900

My 2005 OEM battery is still going and has been run dead from the key being on twice. I have had good luck with NAPA legend batteries in my skid steer, tractor and plow truck. I buy the interstate blems for the Amish and they like them.

    RTVX 1100c 50 hr service

This is the most important change there is. You want to drain the trans and engine, preferably while they are warm. Clean the magnetic drain plugs real well also. It is going to cost some $ but this gets rid of any manufacturing crap in the engine and trans. Be careful to put the right filters...

    New owner of a RTV 1100 C

We have a member Deerlope who has been collecting sap for years with his. He has tracks on his machine as well. If you search his posts you will see some pics of his tank. I would not sweat the weight on level ground. As for what the RTV will pull, I moved loaded wagons of hay bales with mine...

    Glow plugs stuck

When it is real cold (15 or lower) I hold mine over for at least 30 seconds. It starts a lot easier than the Deutz in my Gehl skid steer does. Even with the block heater plugged in all night I have to cycle the glow plugs at least twice for it to start.

    RTV dashboard Replacement

Used that same tactic with the IRS the only time they ever audited me. I ended up paying taxes on trees I had sold but no penalty and interest. Told them since I was laid off I would appeal it all the way up the court system and how much would it cost them to get $1400 out of me.

    RTV dashboard Replacement

I have a farm policy that covers listed additional equipment which includes the RTV, skid steer, backhoe and tractors etc. I listed each with a declared value so they are listed in the policy and renewals each year. It also covers them traveling to adjoining farms etc. with a 1mil. liability...

Kubota RTV 900 blowing hydro filter

Will have to do some looking. Don't know if I have it on this new computer or not. If not I need to get my backup drive from down in the basement.
