Hydraulic filter problems

I took my hydraulic filter off, which is underneath the tractor. (YM 2000) and in front of the transmission. Cleaned it and tried to reinstall it, but there seems to be something in the hole where the filter goes, causing the filter not to go in all the way. Any help appreciated. Txs. Pumba/timone

On your filter, the end that goes in first, is there a hole there and a bolt going through it? Is the bolt still inside the filter and going through that hole?

No bolt in the end. End is closed. Triangle end on outside of filter housing. 3 bolts hold hoising in place. There is, however, a round o ringthat fits on the shaft of the filter hoising where hoisimg meets filter screen.
