So, now we have President Obama.
While he was not who I voted for, I'll accept it and wish him well for the sake of our country.
It should be an interesting 4 years.
I hope I'm wrong. I just got this gut feeling our "tiered" tax system just went from 15, 20, 25%, etc. to about 80% for ALL the WORKING people, so we can "share the wealth".
& I hate it that what guns I didn't loose on the boating accident, I had to sell in a yard sale to pay a medical bill.
edit: I just pray to GOD, (not allah) that I'm wrong about him.
I personally have no problem with the election of Mr. Obama, but the fallout of the Replublicans in the Northeast bothers me. I realized while watching the results come in last night, there is no Republican in power in the entire Northeast. So much for the checks and balances. On the other hand, if they screw it up, there's another election in 2 years.
P.S. You and AW are on my mind a lot, credit to you two.
If I can quote an old rock'n roll song" Meet the new Boss, just like the old Boss"
I'll admit it. I was burnt out on the election way before Nov. 4th. From Nov. 1st on I tried not to watch any news coverage, as the election is all the speculated about ....and I simply did not want to hear it, or believe what they were saying.
Did Obama buy the election? While it seems that way, I'm still not sure if Bush didn't deliver it up to him on a silver platter.
No matter, we move on. I'll wish Obama the best and hope my worst fears are never realized.
Some are bound to agree with you 300%.Well I do resent that this election was orchestrated and abetted by the liberal main stream media and as a direct result of our education system we had an election for the first time in our history prove once and for all that there are more stupid, uneducated people than those that care to acquaint themselves with facts versus flowery bull crap!
GIMME THAT" your just too damn dumb to have the privilege!!
Is it a privilege or a right?
If voting is a privilege, what requirements do you suggest that a person must meet to be able to vote?
In the US it is still a right however if it is not exercised with due diligence and informed thought we will soon realize that it is a privilege that will not be afforded to the manipulated by the manipulating (read the MSM here), one only needs a basic understanding of world history to see what is on the horizon for this country!!!
We are skirting with socialism but there's not that much difference between the two major parties right now. If McCain is the best the republicans could come up with we deserve what we're being dealt right now."Could it be argued that due to our "constitutional rights", we will be our own demise?"
Absolutely, it is too large for even an informed citizen to navigate with clarity let alone what the last group just did considering that only 8% knew who Harry Reid or Ms.Pelosi are~~ consider that now is the perfect time with foreclosures/unemployment and etc to enact universal health care having the total effect of making the same voters totally beholding to the believers in socialism!
To directly answer your question I will just say this until those same voters live under the pain that they so unknowingly enthusiastically voted for there is no legitimate answer!
If you can not name both of your state senators and their party, your representative and the vice presidential nominee then yes, you are just too uninformed to be able to vote. If one can not meet that requirement I would have no problem with suspending the right/privilege to vote.Is it a privilege or a right?
