rtv 1140 speed test

Finally on the road.. new.. to me rtv 1140cxp... changed ALL the fluids, all the filters, u joint in the rear axle (that was fun) new tires, took out the spark arrestor, fresh paint... lookin great.... one question... top speed is about 20 mph... is that normal??
 
Sounds a little low. Were you on any kind of incline? A slight incline can drop it like that. What tires do you have and what do you have the pressure at?

I agree with bczoom. Mine runs 25-26 with tire pressure a little high. That is with the 589's and a long stretch !!!!

I ask about the tires on it also because some OEM tires on the RTV are smaller and give a slower top speed. It's on the turf model but I don't know what they put on the 1140's nowadays.
 
Hmmm. If you're at 20 psi, 25 psi isn't going to get you the extra 5 MPH. If you were at 7 psi, yea, you would probably gain a couple.

At this point, I'm thinking it may be something in the linkage.

........... that is fast enough to hurt you.
These were not designed for speed.

Throw a RTV out of a airplane, it will
only fall about 20-25 mph
