New Mirrors for the RTV

Well, I have been procrastinating getting the side mirrors for the RTV for years and years, but finally took the plunge. I am glad now as I can just take a glance without turning my neck around and know if I am in the "clear". After about tearing down a post pulling a back rubber on skids, I decided it was time to get 'em.. Also I can see traffic when I get on the road so I will have time to get on the shoulder and out of the way..
I went for the Big Dawg brand and think they are just what I needed . These are the swing away type that can be "folded" inward when in heavy limbs etc.. Also, and this is important: New design contains a swivel which makes them perfect for the diagonal rollbar. Only the Bad Dawg labeled to have the "new version swivel " has the ability to tilt so watch for the label should you decide to get a pair. I paid around 55 delivered for the set from Amazon .There were a pair on ebay but didn't have the swivel.
The mirror casing itself is light weight but since it folds , I think it will last me a good while. The rest of the design is fine by me.
Also you will need allen wrenches to assemble it..I used a 5/32 and a 3/16 if I remember right. (2 of the larger alen wenches would be nice to hold on each side but I made one work ok).. bordercollie

I'm sure you will like them Bordercollie! I've had mine about two years and they've been great. I do find that require adjustment often from me bumping into them and after my wife drives it. Of course adjusting mirrors after my wife has driven any vehicle is the norm, and vise versus. That one foot in height difference my the the answer.

God Bless!

Nice looking Mirrors. More substantial than the ones I bought, and maybe a little bigger also. I figure I'll upgrade to something like yours when the time comes. My neck does not turn easily so mirrors are a must .....otherwise I'm sure to hit somethin I shouldn't.

Thank Ya'll ! Doc, I am such a penny pincher ,that I didn't want to buy 'em.. but I can see behind me now to see what could be falling off of the tailgate. (Saw a jug of backrubber mix yesterday just as it fell off yesterday.) That already saved some change. ;) .
Pepr, I have already hit my head 2x exiting the machine. ha - so know what you mean. collie

I like the looks of those mirrors, they really fit the look of the RTV. I can't tell from the pictures if they are flat or convex. I have the Kubota mirrors and the only thing I don't like about them is they are convex. I would like a set of flat mirrors with maybe the convex in the corner.

Nice mirrors. I wish I could keep a set on mine. They keep getting knocked off from going between trees. I finally just put an automotive mirror so I could keep an eye on my trail mower.

I had forgot that tidbit about my mirrors ...they are invaluable for keeping an eye on your load while your driving. :thumb:

I put the same mirrors on my 900 right after I bought it last fall. After 55+ years of driving I can't function without seeing what's happening behind me. I've hit mine on trees, brush and building corners but they can be pushed back into place without any issues and perform their function. Couldn't do without them

Excellent post, Bob

I got the same ones this past winter. I love them! They are invaluable for plowing snow. So much less neck strain!

At the rate I've messed up doors I hate to think what would happen to mirrors! LOL

And I don't like that the ones for the x1100 mount on the front window glass.

Thanks everyone for the comments. :tiphat: I plan to give the mirrors a good workout this summer when I start weed wiping as well as everything else. Yesterday I went to Ark and mowed the yard but, haha thought about the mirrors during that boring job...
Milkman these are flat mirrors and give a real image.
I will keep everyone updated with how these work. collie

Thanks, I'll be ordering a set.

Edit: They're on the way, happy bday to me. Can't beat that, Fathers day one week, birthday the next.

Nice option is to add a fisheye on the lower corner for a wide field view.Thay are only a few bucks at your local auto parts store and actually are a help.
Just a cheap tip from someone who dont know a lot about a lot lol

Mark, you have that right. I was spraying the fence day before and it was sure nice being able to see what was coming up behind me.
I saw negligible vibration in them and was sure happy about that too.
Milkman, I think you will really like them...once you get used to walking around them when you get off the RTV.(My head is right in line since I am 5'2". I am 4 hits in 4 days)ha. Glad they are foldable..and I still like them a whole lots. collie

Here is a picture of the mirror in use. I think I captured a shot of how it looks as far as what a person can see.... collie

Mirrors for full cab models

Anyone find a source for mirrors for X1100? Something that would swing away when hit by brush etc. Maybe this should be covered on a new thread. thanks!
