no the axle has electric brakes on it. you use a wireless remote from in the cab that locks the brakes and the trailer scissors to load and unload. it uses the axle as a fulcrum.

just have to give them a call. it is built like a tank and you would think it was made just for the RTV. no more cranking the winch up and down while the cows tear at the bale.
