Looks like near record high temperatures in my area today. That's good for me 'cause it will get rid of the very last of those snowpiles... even the ones sitting in relative shade... and will keep my $3/gallon heating oil use at a minimum.Dougster: I call it the "POWERFUL PEAR SHAPE". PS: There is still a lot of energy in these Pacific systems as evidenced by the midwest tornadoes. There could be some thunderstorms embedded in the rain cells and there will be a lot more rain than I previously thought (>1" total). Rather than periods of light snow at night there might be some freezing rain/rain in the higher elevations and more northerly areas of NE. I am now looking at some data for my traveling friends. Jay
Some rain will help as well, but freezing rain buys me nothing.

-dWell, I could stand to lose a good 45-55 pounds myself... and more like 75 if you're talking about really getting back to my fighting/running weight of a mere 20 years ago.

. I got shanghied by our School's "Band of Two" nursing staff and 911'd to our local hospital Tuesday due to respiratory shutdown again 
. I just got out of the hospital this afternoon and I need to start looking at the weather data again. From what I could glean from what information that was available to me while I was hospitalized, it looks like my snowdance worked for the Dougster this time! I will be back shortly. The bad news for me is that I will not be working for awhile (again) 
, but I will be able to maintain my weather geek duties 24/7 
. I think I will be providing weather information to our local ambulence service following conversations with the ambulence crew . Jay

But now I'm concerned that your infamous snowdances in the altogether may have contributed to your illness, hospitalization... and now an inability to work. As much as I need and appreciate the fruits of your snowdances, it might not be a good idea to continue the practice at this time.
It is something in the environment that apparently triggers this thing . The good thing is that it does not appear to be related to my manure pile, compost heap, the dirt moving I do with my tractor, cutting wood, working around my property, etc.(everything is still frozen and/or covered with snow). It appears more a function of something floating around where I work. The buildings where I work housed a lot of horses and cows for around 100 years before the buildings were "converted" to human use. I will be undergoing a lot of tests the next few weeks to try to determine what is the causal relationships . It appears a lot of my blood will be going to Japan for tests. I am back on prednisone again which gives me a lot of energy as well as 
. I think the NE region will be getting some plowable snow this Sunday through Monday with more snow later in the week. JayWell, once again... my GF understands everything you just said and I understand next to nothing.
That's the difference between nurses and engineers. All I can say is please try to stay well and don't scare us again.

Frozen this time will be very cool!Paul- There is this doctor in Japan who can somehow figure out immunicological reactions from bloodwork. My pulmonologist knows him and has been consulting with him ever since I first got sick this summer. I even think he already has a "piece of me". Until I got sick this summer I never even saw my primary care physician, now I have an army of specialists controlling my life
