The tach is mechanically driven with a cable. Try disconnecting the cable from the back of the tach and then start the engine. if inner cable spins, then the tach is bad. If it doesn't spin, then the cable is bad.

SOunds like you have a problem in the differential or rear final drive. Have you tried to engage differential lock to see if rear wheels will drive? Also, is it a 410, or a 410a, b, c, or d or ...?

WHat is bad about the 4630 transmission? It should be able to be rebuilt although it can get very expensive.

Unfortunately the 4630 is a larger framed tractor. The 4430 transmission will not bolt up and I don't think any of the gears inside are the same either.
