2005 RTV 900 intermitten start problem.

I use my Rtv 900 just to feed the horses cart manure etc. It stays in the garage when not being used. Every once in awhile it doesnt start. But if i sit there long enough moving the gearshift in and out of neutral while turning the ignition on and off I can usually get it started. On the rare occasion it doent start usually a jump will do it. Ive checked the battery and it shows 12.8 and 100% on the charger. The machine has 5500hrs but runs perfect. Im thinking safety switch or ignition switch. Sometimes it happens repeatedly then is fine for months, then happens again. Thoughts???

OK, it doesn't start.... More info would help us to hopefully point you in the right direction. Such as:
Does it crank when you turn the key with the gearshift in neutral?
Does it do nothing, no sound, click or anything, when you turn the key with the gearshift in neutral?

Having said that, I had a no crank issue with associated clicking when I turned the Key on my 2014 x900. Found out the contacts in the starter had wore out. Bought a set off Amazon that fixed the problem. They were a lot cheaper price wise than Kubota, and they were heaver built. Good Luck.
 
Sounds like the neutral safety switch need adjusted. I know mine will not start unless in neutral. Here is a way to bypass to test.

Thread 'Starting issues with RTV 900'

I have the 2006 RTV 900. I turn the key after letting the glow plugs glow a bit and nothing. I have to wiggle the shifter and put it back in neutral, and eventually after repeating that exercise a few times it will start.
Any ideas on what might be causing this?

No noise at all, faint click if i imagine, the starter runs very strong and it hardly has to turn over to start….like a diesel should start
