    Hydraulic Fluid Level - RTV-X1120

Is there a hydraulic oil that is less prone to picking up moisture than SuperUDT or is it hydraulic oil in general?

    Hydraulic Fluid Level - RTV-X1120

I had no idea so I appreciate that. This was the hydraulic reservoir, not the tranny but I will assume the principal is the same. And my usage fits the profile you described. The 1120 sits for a week or two at a time. It is used to maintain our orchards which is a lot of start/stop. It hauls a...

    Hydraulic Fluid Level - RTV-X1120

Art, I think you were right. It was just barely showing up on the hydraulic fluid dipstick, under the passenger seat. Would you be able to explain how moisture effects that fluid? You mentioned it might have held moisture and foamed? I filled it about halfway up, ran the steering lock to lock...

    No More Rattle

For the first time since we got the x1120, there are no more rattles. As I learned from another member of the site, a couple of wraps of electrical tape on the tailgate pins cured that one. I later replaced it with black gorilla tape. The SMV sign I have mounted on the rear screen was...

    Hydraulic Fluid Level - RTV-X1120

I admit it. I haven't checked the engine oil, transmission fluid or hydraulic fluid since December but I got around to it yesterday. My old Dad would curse me if he knew. The engine oil was good, in range and just down from the top. Transmission fluid was right at top of the mark. The hydraulic...

    My first post

Welcome John. I have had an 1120 for five years and it is a real work horse. I think you will find it was worth the wait. I also think you will find this to be a great group with a ton of technical and practical experience. No one is shy about providing advice or helping you spend your money on...

Coffee With a Side of Diesel

I did purchase the smaller fluted stainless steel coffee filters that every the discussion groups are fawning about. I wasn't interested until I saw what a guy prevented from going into his tank. And then another and another. Then I looked in my diesel cans. Where does this crud come from? There...

    Stock wheels to aluminum.

When I took the factory aluminum rims off my 1120D and put on factory steel, I switched lug nuts/studs. The chrome hardware on dark grey looked odd and I wanted to preserve them. RTV spends a lot of time in red clay mud. I don't think you are required to change them out - the tapering is the...

Jensen HD radio losing preset memory

Those presets are maintained either by an internal battery in the radio or your 12V supply. Assuming no internal components have broken down, first possibility I think of is the internal battery has died. You would have to crack the case and look for a round type battery, like a CR2032. Does...

X1120 Bogged Down on Steep Climb

There is an orange knob that locks the diff when you mash the little pedal but no hand throttle sir. Believe it or not, my salesman talked me out of one when I got the RTV. I don't remember what his reason was. But I was ignorant so went along with it.

X1120 Bogged Down on Steep Climb

I wish I had a hand throttle Arthur - maybe its time. I've been wanting one for mowing. Zoom you are right..soon as I eased up on the pedal, it plowed right on up the hill. That is the steepest angle I've ever encountered. I can tell you there's a bit of pucker at that angle when the power cuts...

X1120 Bogged Down on Steep Climb

I was assisting a neighbor in inspection of his recently timbered land. He, his trusty pup and me were headed up a dozer path. Had zero trouble with traction and it started up the hill fine. But at the steepest incline - I'd estimate about 45 degrees at one point - I lost power and it nearly...

RTV Daily uses, What did you do today with your RTV?

Interest rates are about to start heading up - some economists feel that this will slow the economy, reduce inflation and give the supply line time to catch up. Other economists believe this will cause a recession. Either way, we're going to have a miserable 18 months or so - economy wise. We...

Anybody use their RTV for recreational off road fun?

Hey V10rick, that's what we in South-Eastern Ohio call a harvest. There is a big market for those little berries. And the bushes do have substantial roots. Not surprised your buggy was able to pull it out though and it is gratifying. I picked up a brush grubber extreme a couple years ago. I pull...

Looking for an approximate cost of CV boot replacement

Mine was a little more than that (like $1050 as I recall) but the KTAC insurance paid all but the deductible. But dealer tech told me same thing, quite a bit cheaper to replace axles as they are already assembled with the boot.
