Super K is puking oil! Help!

Looks like it might be the main seal on the crank. Tough to be sure without taking the pulley off but it's real close and the oil might be weeping on the right side a bit too. It's all happening within 1/4 of an inch from the crank shaft. But I'm going out to check the rubber plug your talking...

Super K is puking oil! Help!

I've noticed some engine oil leaking from the RTV1100. I crawled in, under, over and through and can't get to the exact point its coming from. So far I've narrowed it down to just left of the crank, maybe just below or above. It's very hard to see in this area due to the hydraulic reservoir...

Big Orange to the Rescue, new super hero!

Nice thing about living in the Great White North is that the Petro companies sell a winter formula diesel this time of the year. We don't worry about the winter grade gelling up until the temperature drops below -55. I plug in the equipment any time its below -40. I also add a magnetic belly...

Big Orange to the Rescue, new super hero!

It, the tractor and the JD skid steer are in the garage or the barn. The trick I found to proper cold weather starting is to turn the key for the glow plugs till the fuel gauge needle stops moving (usually full) then fire it up. The skid steer (also a 2010) by comparison needs a minimum of 3...

Big Orange to the Rescue, new super hero!

I may not have explained the situation well enough, the weather was truly awful, temperatures were below -30, perhaps -40 with the wind chill. Most tractors in the area couldn't, wouldn't and possibly shouldn't start. But the little RTV fired right up without being plugged in and rose to the...

Big Orange to the Rescue, new super hero!

A 2 day storm dumped 16 inches of blowing snow in our area and some evil has possessed at least 3 tractors in the neighborhood causing them to die. I spent the day digging out neighbors driveways and farm yards. One neighbor was down to 3% of LPG and the propane driver refused to even attempt...

    Which Plow 2 Buy

They hook up via a relay that uses the rear dump hydraulics and the lever for the box. I can't use the dump feature when I've got the blade hooked up.

Very interesting, but until the apocolipse comes I think I'll stick to my over the counter arthritis medications. But it's always great to have a backup plan. Just hope the bees don't turn into zombies too.

    Very Newbie has questions...

I'd be wondering if the diff wasn't shot and the seller just removed the drive shaft to get it moving. Have to wonder about someone that would sell something like this without full disclosure. Good luck, I hope, for your sake, that its not a very expensive fix. Keep us posted and welcome to...

    Can the speedo be adjusted?

My experience is that as speed goes up, something the RTV has a hard time with, the gap increases. But at 5 mph they are about even, and that's where the rubber meets the road. Implements like my Swisher tow-behind mower need to be operated below 5 mph. So it's not how fast I can go it's more...

    Adding Turbo to an RTV

Very good write up spudhauler. Sure helps me feel a little more content with my non turbo 1100. I'm only at 3300 feet and I know I'm down a couple horses from sea level but its jut to hard to justify the added $ and fuel burn to gain so little.

    Adding Turbo to an RTV

You must be referring to the twin turbo RTV-1450-GT. Lowered suspension, active aerodynamics, Recaro racing seats, 20 inch rims with low profile Z rated unidirectional Goodyear's and a parachute to back up the 4 wheel disk brakes.

What did you do today with your RTV?

Good job Game Wardens indeed! We have a black bear sow that has her den on our property, about 850 feet from our front door. We never put trash where it would attract her and she never bothers the donkeys, llamas and alpacas, heck even the dogs and her ignore each other. She takes more than...

New forum member/ new RTV900 owner

Welcome, and I know what you mean about your land. We've got 160 acres of undisturbed land comprised of 80% forested hills, creeks and a few ponds, the remainder are natural grassy hills. We homesteaded the property back in the 70s. Not enough to make a living on but plenty to keep us busy...
