    Speeding in an RTV

LOL and people complain that 25MPH is too slow!

    *** TEMP GAUGE ( Drawing )

Pretty much the same range...the RTV is similar to a tractor in operation (it was build on tractor technology).

    *** TEMP GAUGE ( Drawing )

Yeah, y'all have the early versions/revisions of this gauge. I guess some like them to read like you mention and others prefer the current way as shown in the image above. I think the current version/revision is best and it generally takes some time for the unit to warm up, especially when it's...

    New owner of RTV 1100

Welcome aboard! Sounds like you have nice place to drive the nicest UV on the market.

Extreme cold operations of RTV 1100

learstroker, keep us up to date how the RTV1100 performs. The 40W block heater will be enough for most folks, but you are way up yonder! Oh, and post up some photos of your unit once you get it all squared away. [H]

Extreme cold operations of RTV 1100

The radiator does have a net screen that is easily removed and could be used as mentioned. It should crank up with no block heater when sitting outside overnight in -10F or so temps...in extreme conditions like this use the glow plugs for 10 seconds and turnover for 10 seconds or less till it...

    *** TEMP GAUGE ( Drawing )

Well, this temp gauge has been tweaked a couple of times i.e. calibrated differently (changed the Ohm settings for various temps...etc) & the red zone size has changed. So, depending on your S/N they could read different. However, what sjcolu mentioned doesn't sound right but it looks like it is...

    *** TEMP GAUGE ( Drawing )

Actually, the fan kicks in higher than 206F and cools things down to approx. 196F. There is no need for a different thermostat and it is normal for the temp gauge to read like it does. Bottomline: as long as you are not in the red (248F) your RTV & temp. gauge are running/reading correctly.

Good post...looks right to me and the fan kicks in at approx. 206F (if I recall correctly...maybe it's 196F). [8-)] Of course, you need use the proper 50/50 coolant mixture.

    Letter from dealer on overheating

This is not a problem I have ever heard of and must be something the dealer has taken upon themselves to do. However, I guess anything is possible in extreme operating conditions and it's not a bad idea to check this from time to time. BTW, TwoGuns is right about the temp gauges.

    ***** KUBOTA ADVERTISEMENT ?

I have seen ads in various hunting magazines i.e. Georgia Sportsman...etc. So, hunting magazines are good place to find RTV ads and other outdoor power equipment magazines for all things Kubota.

    cv shaft failure

Yep, those are the stoppers and the zinc plated bolts go through the stopper & a-arm, which thread into a separate plate on the inside of the a-arms. It's the same threaded plate used for the front CV-boot guards.

    Working RTV

Nice mods! You are 1 of the few folks I have seen with knobby tires.

What is the hardest you have worked your RTV 900?

    Awesome stories...the RTV900 is 1 tough UV!

What is this electrical connection (pig tail) for?

OK It sounds like it is actually the safety switch connector on the main shift arm, which ensures safe starting. In other words, I think it basically prevents you from being able to start the unit in anything but neutral. Can you start your RTV in H-M-L-R? Also, the WSM says it is located on the...

High mount air filter v.s. higher intake for the OEM filter

The would probably work fine. Kawasaki (more or less) does this via their ROPS tubing.

    Why?

The fuel tank assembly fix is a fairly recent development...the Rev.5 version of it fixes this problem. The front drive shaft has a kit to prevent said noise problem. I will have to double check the idle deal i.e. ask my sources what to do there. Yeah, get your dealer to contact the Kubota tech...
