I am curious how many hours were on that alternator belt and about how much those belts go for if you wouldn't mind sharing.

Not knowing how to test a separate regulator, I would check the belt tension and if it was good, have the alternator tested at a NAPA or AutoZone type place. If the alternator is good, must be the voltage regulator. Maybe one of our members knows how to test a regulator.
