I am pleased to report that 29 degrees is correct. a quick bleeding of the lines and she kicked right off. I will never work on another one of these now hahahaha.

have you seen anything about 29 degrees? I took the pump to an injection shop and had it re timed and that is what the guy said to put it at. im going to pull the valve cover off today and rotate the engine till I see number 1 both on bottom dead center and see what the flywheel looks like

everything I have seen for this engine in its earlier years is saying 19. the only thing I believe that has changed threw the years is them going to this tapered shaft on the injection pump
