    Sage advice and commentary

It's been a weird day Jay. I'll PM you and tell you all about it tomorrow. I've got to get to bed now 'cause I'm gonna have to get up real early for one last clean-up run. Those gosh-darned municipal plow guys just don't know when to quit!!! They keep blocking my completed driveways no...

    Sage advice and commentary

I like this one best... and not because of the size of my own gun collection. I like it because I think it's true! :thumb: But you better expand it to include a certain aircraft-repairin', large tractor-drivin' lady from the Lone Star state lest she decides to do it for ya. ;) Dougster...

    A question about SMV plates.

Jay is absolutely correct. What the law says and what the cops might actually say or do in any given town (especially urban vs. suburban vs. rural) are miles apart. This is why I always check with the local cops... in person and ahead of time... in any town in which I will be working where my...

    A question about SMV plates.

I assure you that your experience in that regard is not unique to your government. I run into PLENTY of the same here in the People's Republic of Taxachusetts USA!!! :noevil: Oh the stories I could tell you!!! Dougster :starbucks:

    silly question about Starbucks

Ouch!!! Yet another series of vicious unprovoked attacks on the wisdom, judgement and sanity of NTT's one and only OLD MEMBER. Fact is that I did grab a chicken salad sandwich with my Starbucks :starbucks: on two separate occasions when I couldn't take the gruel even one more...

Massey Ferguson #39 2-row corn planter

Well, I need snow! :letitsnow: Real plowable snow! :letitsnow: The kind that get the "one-offs" calling nonstop and waving green cash in their hands!!! ;) The kind that gets Jay going and the old Edster crying!!! :yum: Dougster :starbucks:

    A question about SMV plates.

Be very thankful that you can register a CUT for road use at all. Here in Taxachusetts, USA, that is a virtual impossibility unless you own a bona fide farm or logging operation meeting a strict state criteria. I know of one person who pulled it off without owning a farm, but he kinda sorta...

Massey Ferguson #39 2-row corn planter

Without the old Edster around anymore to buy me dinner on his unlimited expense account, I AM stuck eating nothing but gruel... :( ...at least until Friday night's expected billable, plowable snowfall. :thumb: Then it will be FAT CITY for at least the rest of this month! ;) Dougster :starbucks:

    Starbucks to close nationwide 26FEB08!!!

And now this!!! Starbucks :starbucks: cutting 600 jobs February 21, 2008 SEATTLE—Starbucks Corp. has laid off 220 employees who worked in field operations and at the coffee retailer's headquarters in Seattle. It will leave about 380 open jobs unfilled. Chairman and Chief Executive Howard...

    A question about SMV plates.

Well, the truth is that I've seen more SMV signs on the backs of tractors being trailered than anywhere else. My guess is that it would only be an issue if it actually caused someone to misjudge a moving vehicle's speed while in the act of passing said vehicle and thereby caused an...

Massey Ferguson #39 2-row corn planter

Now you aficionados of classic® and antique® tractors will have to explain this one to the poor old Dougster: Is that some sort of tractor implement??? Or is that Santa Claus's very own trap drum set mounted to his sled??? :yum: :yum: :yum: Dougster :starbucks:

    A question about SMV plates.

It does vary from state-to-state. They are apparently not a requirement in Taxachusetts because unregistered tractors aren't allowed to drive on public streets anyway. On the other hand, I believe it is a requirement of neighboring New York State (among plenty of others) if memory serves me...

    A question about SMV plates.

Ain't that the truth! You don't want to know how much I had to pay today in vehicle excise taxes alone. Boy, have you got that right. Just call my little corner of this God-forsaken state "Brazilachusetts"! :o I hear ya Mark. That would be an intelligent thing to do. I spent a lot...

    TC24D

The OLD MEMBER refuses to be drawn into this unspoiled thread by such devious and dastardly lies! Trust me, if there were as little as 15 cents buried in the back yard, I'd be out there digging it up right now as we speak! :o I'm afraid all that's out there in the back yard is...

    Tractor Supply Spring Clearance!

Well, maybe it's time for the old Dougster to head north on a bargain hunting trip to the glorious land of "Live Free or Die"! I'll pass on the leftover Christmas decorations this time around... but I'm running out of time to snare a good deal on a nifty MIG welder. :) Dougster :starbucks:

    Tractor Supply Spring Clearance!

Hey Jim - I got the same e-mail from TSC that you probably got, but I'm not seeing anything actually on sale yet... at least not on-line. :wtf: In particular, my nifty and highly desired Ironman 210 welder certainly isn't any lower than it's been since Christmas. :o Oh well... maybe I better...

Sorry Mark. :notthatway: There are some things that are self-evident. There are some things that you just know. And yes, this kind of insight, knowledge and wisdom comes with age. Which, again, is why I am the OLD MEMBER. :thumb: :respect: Dougster :starbucks:
