1100 lighting option, Another

Heres another idea for lighting on the front of our RTV's. I have become a real believer in using LED lights. They draw little electric current, last a long time, bulbs don't burn out, lights are bright and the cost is coming down.

i used small square stock with holes in it and bolted to front of brush guard. Mounted behind brush guard at first but then couldn't open hood.

Wiring was gathered and inclosed in shrink tubing and that slit opening corrugated tubing and run up through the hood. I also put a quick disconnect.

Also wired it directly to battery with an in line fuse.

Quick use of a Dremel tool gave me a place to put a switch... next to the other light switches.

Looking back at my posts... I didn't actually run the wires through the hood.... my bad. I ran the wire down the back of the brush guard, secured them with wire ties, and up under the hood to inside the cab through a large rubber grommet.. I didn't want to drill any holes unless absolutely neccessary.

Looks good and its a different approach to adding lights. I wish we get a little more snow around here so I could go play in it.

Nice!

I definitely prefer the lights below the windshield in the snow. When it's snowing and you have lights overhead, I feel like I'm seeing the same thing as in Star Wars (or is that Star Trek?) when they go to warp drive and what should be dots look like streaks.

You are right on that one BC....I find that spotlights work better than floods in those snowy conditions also.

Can you still use the lights when you have the Boss Snow plow on? (At least the bracket at the bottom of the first picture looks like a boss connection). I mounted my lights on the top because of the boss vplow.

To answer several questions/concerns: The parts for my front lighting setup were scrounged from my scrap pile, Lowes, Radio Shack, Tractor Supply, Auto Zone, Advanced Auto, etc. You get the idea. The LED worklights, I don't remember what online site I got them from. I bought them some time ago before putting them on the RTV. I think I paid around 35 bucks a piece for them. They are 18 watt and have a flood beam. But must say, the LED's are head and shoulders better than the OEM lheadlights and are well worth the money and the effort to mount them.

I just got a Boss v plow... Santa was really generous this year because I was excecptionally good. OK, he screwed up.. but I got the plow anyway. I haven't used the plow yet but think in the "up" position, the brush guard lights will be partially blocked. With it down I think they will be ok. If it is a real problem I will just raise the light bar some. Another "work in progress" project.

Lights with Boss plow. With plow down the lights are not blocked.
