It's been years but as I recall, it was easy. Directions provided are simple and straightforward.
It's normally about a 10-20 minute job.

Ordered a Hand Throttle Kit thru Messick's last week. Installed it this morning. Took 20 minutes. Could do a second one in half that time. Pretty straight forward. Kubota does a very good job of marketing option kits. They call them Whole Goods kits. And each has it's own specific number...

Hand Throttle
I have read where some of you have added a hand throttle to your RTV. This is of particular interest to me because part of my RTV's job when I get it is to pull a DR field and brush mower. The property is hilly and sometimes bumpy. If you have this, would you please let me know where it mounts...

Super! Should only take me a couple hours then! And four trips to Autozone/O'Reillys/Hardware store/Liquor store.
Won't take any trips to hardware stores.
Number of trips to the liquor store should be limited to one and that's before you start. (Don't drink and drive)
I too have spent a couple hours doing little things like this. Takes longer to clean up the beer cans at the end than the actual project.

What's the part number of the kit you ordered?
I'm showing P/N K7561-45312 as the U42000 Hand Throttle Kit (Option) for my RTV900R6 (2006-2009). $140 plus shipping - Ouch!
So one is listed under "Options" (for the part number I showed) and $140. The other posted by ko is listed as an "Accessory" is $73. I'm getting all this from the Messick's site.
There is no picture shown for the -45312 but there is for the -99450, so you can't even look at the parts to see if there is a difference.
Messick's parts desk was always polite when I called and had questions. Maybe those guys are still there ?
The guy in Sales I talked too Was VERY Nice and Helpful, we ended up just shooting the Breeze for a few after the transaction. Talked about Ammo shortages, NOT THAT I Have any Need for Ammo, I'm SCARED OF GUNS!!! Don't even know of any in this part of the country!!
Installed the Hand Throttle today, it took about 2 hrs and Most of that was trying to get that Damn Bracket behind the throttle cable already there! Other than that it was eazy and works like its supposed too. In the Shop that is, redoing all my Light Sw's for the LED's to the Dash, I've Been Doing Way Too Much for a Broke Down Old Man. With the LED's, Badlands Winch now the Hand Throttle! But gets me out of the House some, My Wife has MS and I have to stay Very Close to the House, But have an Alarm in my shop that she can activate if she needs me so I Piddle a little when she's doing Fair!!
