4010 PTO

I've recently semi restored my 4010 Diesel tractor. The motor needed overhauling, among other things. I also installed a new clutch assembly, and adjusted it with the John Deere Clutch gauge. My problem is, the PTO won't disengage. I've moved the engagement lever both ways, and it doesn't make any difference.
I'm hoping there is an adjustment in the Lever assembly, that I can adjust, to get it to work properly.
Any helpful hints out there will be appreciated. I'm hoping I don't have to split the tractor again.

I'd bet your issue is the PTO brake. When you push the clutch all the way down, it should stop the shaft from turning. After you put in the new clutch, the adjustment for that little brake is probably just off. I'd check that adjustment first. It's way easier than splitting it.
Good luck!

Where does one adjust the pto brake? I wouldn't have tried it running, but with tractor off, I tried turning the pto shaft, lever both ways, and I couldn't turn it. I haven't tried it, with the clutch pushed in though.
