I have a Hurd seeder and would have to adapt it to the RTV. do any of you use broadcast seeders with your RTV?

Thanks

I use a broadcast fertilizer with my RTV. Made a L bracket for the 2" trailer hitch on the back, then made a sleeve for the fertilizer. All I have to do now is slip the fertilizer on the L bracket. Also installed a power outlet on the back also. Ran this to a switch in the Kubota to be able to turn it off and on.

Im looking to make one eventually.Im just trying to find the proper 12 volt motor right now.
MOst Ive came across so far spin to fast.Ill stumble across one eventually.

I use a Garden Way electric model that I've attached to the receiver. Use it mainly for spreading clover seed.

I've also pulled a Dow seeder to spread ryegrass seed. The Dow seeder is a wheel driven spreader.

Someday, I might purchase a Herd seeder, although, they sure seem pricey. I know, pay for what you get, especially long lasting Kubota u-joints. Sorry, still a little bitter about the premature failure and the wonderful Kubota price for a replacement spider and cups.

I'm sure there is some sort of slide adjustment in the bottom of the of the spreader to regulate the flow of sand & salt. I don't know as far as pounds per acre? We might just have to do a scientific study on that one:bonk: . I will look at it closer.it would be neat if it would work. It's got a nice big tub that would hold ALOT of seed !!

that would be great! what kind of feed system does it have?

The salt spreader is right from Kubota. I don't own one,l just saw one on a 1100 at a local gas station. They use it to clear snow & sand there lot. I tried looking at it the other day,but they had big garbage bag over it to keep it dry. It is just big hopper that drops onto the spreader wheel. There must be some way to control the flow of sand to wheel.they added a rear DC plug to run the spreader. I will keep trying to find out how it can be controlled. I suppose we could go to our local Kubota Toy Store and ask the nice man with all the toys how they work!

I have a spreader that just hangs over the tailgate.

It has an arm to control flow rate (look at black bar at bottom of green hopper).

It has a 12V DC motor which shares a plug/switch I have wired for a light.

I've never used it for grass seed. For fertilizer, I just have my son ride in the bed with the 50# bags and he keeps the hopper full.
