B7510 Injection Pump

My B7510 recently stopped running

I removed the Injection pump and cleaned it. When I reinstalled it, and primed it, all ports squirt fuel when the cover is 1/4 turn loose but the fuel flow stops when the cover is tightened.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

You removed it and cleaned it. What does that mean? You took it apart to clean it, rinsed it off and put it back in? Injection pumps are not homeowner serviced items. If you dismantled the pumping units, cleaned all the parts, and then assembled it you screwed up. Send it to a qualified pump repair shop and prepare for a healthy bill.

I just removed the pump and cleaned the delivery valve holders then put it back. Used the same shims and didn't adjust any timing.

I would THINK you could remove the delivery valves without damaging anything down below. I've removed one on occasion for timing check purposes and haven't done any damage that I know of. But that's as deep as I go. That said, if in that process the lower portion turned as well while you were doing so, it certainly could affect what happens beneath it. These pumps are all similar, but certainly not identical.

It's certainly your choice, but if the pump is not performing as it should, I would contact a pump shop. Explain what you have, what you did, and provide the I.D. numbers on the pump tag. See what they tell you.

Thank you, good advice!
