Betting on Weight on the RTV

TWO GUNS

Senior Member
A local man, that owns two Gators & one Ranger, fell into a conversation that he swears the RTV's weight, is way over twice as much as the Gators Deisels. That if it wasn't for that weight, he wouldown one, but , being he knows what they are, he would be wasting his money. ( is hefixin' to get a wake-up call ) During that statement, I took stand and told him he was very wrong, the Kubota RTV 900 weight is ruffly in the area of 1800-1900 lbs. He got angry ,and said , " Them _ _ _ _ things weight way over 3000 + lbs. Boy, that done it ~~~~

[:@] At that moment, I told him, if he's so sure, lay a bet on it. So the bet is on !!! We have a third party holding the money !!! Agreement was made, that there is no backing down ... SO BE IT !!!!

In the morning, we are meeting up, and others, ( where most farmers drink their early coffee ) at the grain elevator, which of course, has calibrated, true scales for the purchase of truck loads of grain.

Going to run the RTV on the scales, and let 'em spit out a weight ticket. I will post the total weight when I return. And let ya'll know, what rifle I'm fixin' to order tomorrow after the weight in.... Really get sick and tired of people, of that caliber, putting down other folks equipment, expecially when they don't have a clue what they are talking about, but he's fixin' to get educated quickly !!!!

Way I truely figure, the RTV is heavier, but the worst scenario, no more500 lbs. Hope my RTV don't throw on a bunch of weight before morning ~~~~~~

I'm telling you, this manwent crazy. But, in justa matter of hours, he really fixin' to loose it !!!!!All the men standing around, couldn't believe how this man was acting, like he had a chip on his shoulder about RTV. >>>>

Hey Two Guns,

I own one of each. I don't know the weight of the 6X4 Gator but I bet it's half the weight of the RTV900. Now we all know the RTV doesn't weigh 3000 pounds - they're closer to a ton - at least stock ones.

I have over 100 ponds on my farm and there are some perpetually wet places on some of the levees and roads. The RTV is just too rough in those areas because the footprint is so heavy. We use the Gator in those areas because it floats over the muck instead of digging in. (We also use it sneak up on trespassers and poachers because it's so quiet compared to the RTV.)

Both machines have their pros and cons. It's kind of like a CJ2 vs. a 2008 4WD Powerstroke/Cummins/Duramax pickup.

Anyhow, no senseseeing Red and Green and elevating the blood pressure at the elevator. Better off inviting your Mule Gator pal for a test ride, a tasty beverage, and show him the blissful Orange light...

Total weight of my RTV 900, is2120 pounds, the way it is rigged out.

There was a small crowd there to witness this, most were employees from the elevator and farm supply.....Even tried to do the nice thing, and tell the man that he could keep his money, extended my hand, offered him a handshake and my keys to take a spin in my RTV. Wouldn't shake my hand, told the other man to give me the _ _ _ _ money. Said a few choice words, and jumped into his truck and left. Maybe I did go to far with this, but done had enough of this mans words of putting down the rtv's, and other folks equipment. It is a never ending thing withthis man. Going to give the man time to cool off a bit, and find him this evening, offer his money back one more time. I really hated doing this !!!

This is what added on the extra weight to my RTV 900 >>>>>

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Kubota wins again. I never did like a sore loser. I'd let him suffer for a while before I would return his money. Shame on him for not being a man.

keep the money, this guy sounds like a real winner(whiner). He is probably telling anyone who will listen that the scale was rigged. I understand brand loyalty to a point, I been an orange man for a long time. But, I also realize that all of the major manufactures make good equipment. This is a good thing as it benefits us all.

A Bet is a Bet!!

I like it Two Guns!! Way to Go!! You could also give the money to a charity if you thought it would lessen the tension. (Something really, really bad happened over here when a Guy couldn't control his temper over tree cutting.) Maybe he was having a bad day and will cool off. Go Orange!!! Bordercollie[&]

FYI - Our 10+ year 6X4 Gator Go Kart weighs 1050 lbs. I have to say we keep waiting for it to die but it keepsfloating along, original tires, and all. It was a good back up machine for deer hunting guest last week - that way I get the RTV all to myself...
